Alright I know this has been discussed , but I've searched and can't seem to find the answer

I know there is a way (or at least I think I saw a way?) to make our custom downloaded mods Awakening Compatible.

I've googled, and know I'm just googling wrong.

Could someone direct me by any chance?

Heyas M3rr-

I think what you're asking, is how to get some of the mods to load up in both DAO and DAA?

[edit- this requires some editing to an important file. So Do this AT YOUR OWN RISK. I'm not responsible if you mess this up and make your mods not show up anymore. I CANNOT stress it enough, to make a backup copy of your addins.xml file BEFORE making any of these edits! [/edit]

Ok there is a file in your documents folder called addins.xml its located in documents/bioware/dragon age/settings.

What you will have to do is open that file in notepad.

I would also open up a seperate instance of notepad, for editing purposes, and also make a backup of the addins.xml file, in case you botch up your editing, because if you do, it can really throw your game off. So keep a backup of that file, before you do anything with it.

Now, once you've got that done, you need to go thru and find the listing for the first mod that you want to add to daa also. Copy and paste it's entire listing (from where it says <additem> to where it says </additem> for each mod) to your editing version of notepad. Find the line where it says ExtendedModuleUID="Single Player" and change that to ExtendedModuleUID="DAO_PRC_EP_1"

Now, click on edit, select all, then choose copy. Go back into your original addins.xml file, hit the enter key to start a new line, and paste that into a separate line after it says </additem>

Click on File/save as/ name the file addins.xml then go down to the next drop box below the filename box and choose SAVE AS ALL FILES (this is important, or it will save it as a text file, rather than as an xml file, and the file won't work!) then test it out in game.

Now... If you botch this up, NONE of your mods will show up. At all. Which is why I say to have a backup!

I also recommend adding all of these after the last listing for the last mod. That way, you know where they are, instead of having to hunt thru tons and tons of lines.

Once you've gotten it to work correctly, you go in and rinse and repeat the copy and paste, edit, then copy and paste, until you've got all your mods listed in addins.xml with TWO listings. One with a listing for Single Player, and One with a listing for DAO_PRC_EP_1
