An idea for a quest

Here is an outline for a large quest, i hope that you will like it and i hope that someone will be willing to create it.

 

 

You get a letter from an old friend one that you haven't heard from in a long while. He says something like I'm sorry for what I've done to you and I know it is hard to forgive for such things, but if you will find a place in your heart for forgiveness, I want to invite you to my wedding,. My new fiancé is the one that showed me the error of my ways.

 

You decide to go there. When you meet him, he introduces his new fiancé and she is a countess. On the morning before the wedding, the countess is found dead, stabbed with the friend's family dagger, and your friend is not to be found. Everything seems to indicate that he did the deed, but why should one that is about to be come a count kill the fiancé he was courting for months? This solution seems too easy. You start to investigate and realize that more people besides just him disappeared from this town during recent years. The investigation leads to one of the biggest schools of magic in the area.

 

to investigate the school you will need to infiltrate it, by any means you like (killing a guard and take his uniform, pretending to be student atc)

your inquiry reveals that the school abduct people to experiment in magic, thy try to make a minion/demon that cant die by magically tieing the soul to the body.

One room is burned, the archmage is dead,you realize that he/she created a minion/demon that cant be killed but it retained its mind and killed the mage burned everything to stop the research, and escaped, the only note about the research was from the mage to his friend (something like, i succeeded i made an indestructible minion, but it retained its mind).

the minion/demon is losing it mind and rage replace it, he is starting to destroy and kill everything.

2 factions are looking for the creature one to destroy the abomination and one to learn from it and to create more, the player can join what ever faction he want and play them one against the other.

further research discover that the minion can be killed by a weapon that the player need to create ((staff, sward or a bow) i thought about 3 or 4 parts) this weapon can tear the magical thread between the body and soul and steal the soul of the creature.

After creating the weapon the player realize that the weapon can steal any soul, stealing soul will make the player stronger but it have a price it will very slowly drain the player energy (mana/stamina) when the energy is drained it will drain the player hp, until the player kill again, when attacking/casting spells every blow/spell will steal life and energy from the target. When unequipped it will knockdown/stagger the player and all of the player stats will be revert to normal.

(this part is a corny...) the player realize that the creature is his abducted friend, the creature vaguely remember him and he can use as means to get close to the minion.

at the end he can be one of each factions or just join the abomination and cause havoc.

 

 

 

If you like to add companions here is my suggestion:

 

A priestess that is full of self riotousness and lack confidence, unaware of her strength.

 

An old general that was discharged dishonorably, eager to prove his ability and honor.

 

A warrior trapped in statue for hundreds of years, the only way to release him is by finding his hammer and putting it in his hand, this hammer can be used as one of the parts to the weapon, but the warrior can show you so many hidden treasures and epic weapons (will help in making the weapon too)

 

A shape shifter that have only evil forms (seducer demon, ogre, werewolf, one more woman type (when i first thought about it was suppose to be a harpy but there aren't in the game)), when you meet her she present herself a week woman and you save her from what you think is cretin death, later on you realize that she could have killed them.

 

I thought the quest should be in zedar or any other place you see fit.
