OMFG please help no sleep in 4 days trying to get onlivion to work rig

Ok Ill start off I run several mods and I had no problems until completing the last quest in the thieves guild and the beginning of the dark brotherhood quest. Ok so I kill the guy in the inn of ill omen, I cant not access the hatch to get out of the area. So I use my partner travel ring to teleport back to my house in the IC. Ok everything else goes fine I joined the dark brotherhood and do the 1st kill mission no problem. Now onto the accident mission I fast travel to BRUMA BAM CTD automatically. Im like ok this happens! So than I keep trying for a whole day and nothing but CTDs. I work through the night researching and trying everything to keep bruma from crashing. No fix. So I do a clean reinstall of all mods and game. BAM CTD. I even tried open cities but there was still doors there after the open cities door. I could not eliminate the problem. Did another clean install and somehow it worked so I was like awesome! I continue on to do the dark brotherhood quest everything was fine until i kill the elf in the jail. Half way through the sewers I start getting some horrib FPS drop like in the 9-10 fps. I was like ok not a problem it happens. So after 20 minutes or so it does it again, 15 minutes it happens again. Now Im to the point where it starts like 20 seconds after a loaded game. But heres the strange thing if I press tab to bring up the inventory they go back to normal, if i go into the console they return to normal. And it is so frustraing every 10-40 seconds I have to press tab or the console button. Ive done my research, Ive tweaked the ini, Ive tried streamline 3.0 and 2.0 the oblivion stutter remover and what ever frame rate optimizers there are here and on planetscrolls. Ive done 6 clean installs in the past 30 hours. Im about to go crazy and I just now really really enjoyed playing this time around. Please help me Im going crazy. sorry couldnt find my list so I used wyrebash list my specs are Windows 7 with ati Phenom x4 925 with an ati radeon 4600 HD 1gig and 8 gigs of ram. PLease oh please someone help me before I go crazy!!!!

 

OK just tried running it without obse and does same thing Ive done everything I think I found on the board and I have not seen anyone else with this problem.

I have disabled all mods except the ones for my character meshes and it still does the same thing. But I start a new game and it dosent seem to happen I think I spent like 20 minutes on a new character and it dont seem to happen.

Wild guess, but have you tried the remove bloating feature in Wrye Bash? If a new character is working ok, then maybe the save is messed up and/or bloated.

 

I'm not an expert at fixes, so this might not help at all. I just figured I would mention it.

If you did a 'clean' install and then put your old save games and old mods back, you just put the problem back.

 

Using the game uninstall does not really uninstall everything. It leaves a lot behind. Old saves, old mods, old oblivion.ini and - most important old entries in the Windows registry.

 

If you are able to start and play some, the registry is probably OK. So another reinstall is probably not needed.

 

First, delete the Oblivion.ini ( the one in the folder with the saves - NOT the one in the Oblivion folder) When you start the game, it will create a new one based on your hardware.

 

Then try this: It should leave you with a true clean install - without the hassle of reinstalling.

The only thing I can think of is I didnt have the pugins required by fdearsome magic and did not set my value to 1 in unneccesary violence ini. BEcause I noticed that when creating a new character. Nut I tried that and fps still go down to 8 to 10 and is restored back to normal when pressing tab or ` console.

Bben I followed the clean install on this website and I only replaced one new save after backing them up..... But its just wierd how the old save game works fine but when I start a new one there is no problem.

WElp I just decided to dump a 90 hour save and start again. But I kept a backup just in case something will work.

Its probably the Bruma Statue. I had this issue. Did you complete the main story line? Because I'm guessing they put up a statue of your character which is probably a custom race and it crashes Bruma. There is a KillBrumaStatue/KillKvatchStatue mod out there somewhere forgot where. I know that's not much help but if you completed the main story line and you are having trouble entering Bruma then that is most likely the issue.

This is a serious problem. RshAlchemyRecipes depends on another mod which is not loaded. Things like this cause serious badness...
