How to reset a quest

Hope this helps... I crush my poor console skills to find out how to reset "The Wasteland Survival Guide" (because I finished in the worst possible way and three dog make jokes about it) but just using <resetquest> only takes the quest out of my completition list and takes away some rewards.

For "The Wasteland Survival Guide" is:

resetquest 14e96

setstage 14e96 5

Now when you go to Moira she'll act like if you never started the research but you said you will and she asks you if you are ready to begin with it.

For other quests just do resetquest <questid>; then sqs <questid>. This will list the quests stages. Once an stage is activated (showing a value of "1") cannot be deactivated. The only way is resetting the whole quest. So, if you want to restart you have to activate one of the first numbers (in a short quest maybe there are so few stages that can only be the one or two). For "The Wasteland Survival Guide" this particular value was "5". When you input the stage number [ex: setstage <questid> <stagenumber>] this will be set to "1" and there's no way to deactivate it except by resetting the quest again. The values indicates the stage and wich way the quest was completed.

For example "The Wasteland Survival Guide" stages for perfect completition are 5, 14, 24, 25, 34, 38, 44, 54, 64, 65, 68, 74, 84, 94, 100 and 250 (this particular quest is a very long one with a lot of stages, variables and endings). The stages needs to be activated in the correct order to avoid bugs because diferent stages unlocks diferent dialogues options and rewards.

If some NPC needed for the quest is dead or something alike you can do the next to reset it:

prid <NPCid>

disable

enable

kill

resurrect

After this the NPC is reset. It could take up to 24 game hours to the AI being fully reseted (real time, sleeping wont work). The NPC will apper in his normal enviroment (ex: Moira in "The Crater Supply").

If you need the NPC simply use:

prid <NPCid>

moveto player

or to go were the NPC is:

player.moveto <NPCid>

Note: If a clipping issue happens use TCL command for avoiding collisions.

For quest and NPCs id's go to http://fallout.wikia.com/
