Realistic Settings

Hey guys. So I was wondering if there was any way the difficulty slider can act "both ways" for both player and NPC as in, if I slide the slider down to the easiest difficulty where I am killing NPCs in 1-3 shots, I want it to be the same for me. As in, they would be killing me in 1-3 shots also. So it would be like a "kill or be killed" scenario. Is there anyway to make this happen? I know I'm probably not the only person who really wants that much realism in oblivion. I find it kind of odd that on normal difficulty where the game is "balanced" that it takes anywhere from 5-10 slashes/blows/shots to kill a bandit or marauder. Is there anyway a mod like this could get started? Or if something like this exists, I would greatly appreciate a link to the download, but I have searched everywhere for a mod like this, but no luck so far. Thanks for any replies.

I have heard of mod projects to make mods that do precisely what you speak of. I am not sure if mods like this are available for download yet. What they would basically do is either raise the attack power of all weapons fourfold or else reduce hit points fourfold. But it takes a long time to create something like this because you have to mod every single weapon in the game, or modify every single actor in the game. There are also tricky things like hand to hand combat, hard coding concerning the player and leveling up, and the incompatibility which this mod would have with most mods. (The actors in mods could all become super bosses or pathetic weaklings. Seemingly indestructible, or no challenge at all.)

Ah okay, thank you for the reply. I did not even think about those circumstances. I could probably just get a mod that lowers the players health significantly and play on easy mode so it seems realistic enough. But yeah, I could see how that could be a total pain for some other custom mods.

 

EDIT: I think I may have found what I am looking for. I am at work currently and unable to test it out but the mod is called Phits Damage Multiplier, which runs a script that checks the players health or something and adjusts damage accordingly or something like that.
