Armor turns white with archive invalidation on

Turn off the pip light here.

You see just to the left lower corner here?, of the shelves? That's shadow, that means the pipboy light is on. On top of the Gun, is a shinny reflection, that is light.

The mod is (OldWorldSecretsV1.1) That room.

I can't even load the page. 30 minutes and ten tries, find another place to post your shots so I can see what it is.

I might know the bug.

The armor is flickering purple? is that right?

From which mod is it from? If possible. upload a saved game that contains this bug for me to test.

Whit the mods only effecting the weirdness. not 1000 1 mods. just a as small amount will do.

If I can duplicate this, I can fix it for you.

Thanks for the reply, I've been hitting a lot of dead ends on this. My save is from within an AWOP cell. I've disabled a lot of other mods, so it won't be exactly the same, but the problem is still present.

 

* Yes, the pipboy light was on; the problem vanishes as soon as I turn it off.

* This only happens indoors.

* This always happens (so far) when there has previously been an explosion or use of a flamer nearby (lighting...)

* if I look at my feet in the above shot (with the pipboy on), the white textures vanish until I look up again.

* Similarly, if I move around the corpses, the different angle will sometimes cause the normal textures to reappear.

 

It is undoubtedly something with the way the specular maps are being rendered but I'm not sure what I can do to fix this aside from disabling them altogether.

Hardware issue for you. The bug is non existent here for me using your data.

I would require a saved game from the other person as well to verify the circumstances are the same, he or she would also need to cut down as much data as possible for me to check it. It may be AA on the systems graphics details for the main OS..the desktop software or DX data is out of date.

I do know this, IF the mesh files for some software are missing specific informations within them, the Object themselves will do this too, aside from world spaces and speculars, individuales are not effected in the same way, but....they appear ONLY to be so in the same way.

 

these things are usually from bad video cards when the data is made. It get trapped into the code of the file. If you know what your doing and are very carful to isolate a suspected mod package, you can use a swiss army knife type of programing to try and cut out the data (pyFFi) will do just that BIG time.

 

the problem is, you need to have the skills to make the repairs on the data effected only.

 

So, target the data ot items, get out pecil and paper and start writing down them as you go if is armor or objects. Get the ID's and then make only an esp for those mesh files and objects. Use Fo3edits scripts asset manager to scan the mesh files listed in the esp you design for the repairs to be made, it will deposit the textures for the data in question to an appropriated folder of your own choosing to isolate and investigate the data, even make a small repair kit if need be to hack / load into the game and verify this was indeed the cause.......from there, we end up deciding if we tell any one or whom it was that made the data in the first place. research and development becomes part of the experience on modding games.

Sorry I'm not sure what you meant by cutting down data (uninstalling my mods?) but I've found that eve seems to be causing the error as I uninstalled it and everything was fine my armor never turned white after an hour of playing/doing things that made it turn white before. Now when I activate what I believe is the data you have there (outcastpower armor camo retextured) I could be wrong about the mod but not the results found. This renders the White lite very bright from the pipboy. Why this does that is because the mod in question is a Joke mod still sitting on the nexus , people are downloading things like this and still get caught by it.

 

the files are Blanks.dds files, listed as legit re-textures, they are just plain black blanks. But the game will load them and the result is the armors get lit up like the 4rth of July !

No bugs detects in the saved game file with the above plugins, I have the flamer and even used it to work my way outside.

so. to be clear ,obviously there is more to this bug hunt I have not yet seen. IF you can, Subtract the data I posted here and list the links to the remaining mods,, I have almost every mod ever made, but some mods are not to my Genders liking so I have not downloaded a few. a lot I have renamed.

I do have my own examples of bugs I know about, flickering data /armors and weapons, objects, even the ground will do it.
