Hey guys,

So after my Mk. 46's success, I thought for my next mod I would delve back into the awesome world that is LMGs by making a lore-friendly and awesomely detailed M60 mod. My skills have significantly improved since the Mk. 46, and I confident that I can release this mod with close to none of the issues that it had. I'm very busy lately though, so it could be a while until I complete this. That said I figured I might as well make a progress thread where people can check up on the progress of the models/textures.

Essentially my idea is to make a mod with 2 M60s. 1 that is available at Gun Runner's and can be found in levelled lists. The other would be a very banged up unique version that can be found in a very hard-to-reach place while made to fire .308 rounds (sort of like the Service Rifle/Survivalist's Rifle). Without further adieu, this is what I have so far.

Let me know what you think, but just know that I am not taking requests.

EDIT: I have only been working on this for a couple of hours, the finished version will be much more detailed I promise.

So, if the unique will be .308/7.62, will the "standard" variant be in a different caliber?

Again, you're doing some good work here. Not at all bad for "a couple hours" of work - definitely gonna be following/stalking this thread to watch the progress.

Yeah I was thinking the regular one could use 5.56 or 5mm since they're much more common and would overall make it easier for people to go ham on their enemies. As for the unique version my thoughts are for it to chamber .308 and have a higher damage but slower rate of fire, kind of like the automatic rifle.

Update: barrel/foregrip/ventilation system complete, still have a metric ton of detailing left to do.

It may look a little jagged, but that's just my piss poor graphics card with terrible anti-aliasing.

Looks very very nice. I would like to see a tad more detailing on the grip assembly, the ejection port and the rivets in the butt. Other than that, I have no complaints.

Can't wait to see how it looks textured.
