Hello everyone. So Im kinda new to all of this stuff, so youll have to excuse if I may seem like an idiot lol, but i really need help on something...

Yesterday, I was playing oblivion, and when I was installing some new mods, my oblivion game began to crash on the loading screen. I cant even start the game anymore. When i click "play", the Bethesda logo appears and everything, but when I go to the main menu, and i click continue, all it does is go black, and return me to the desktop, and it says "Oblivion has stopped working". This has happened to me probably more than 20 times already. I have already tried re-installing it, but it still has the same problem. Please help, I have no idea what to do, I would really appreciate if you guys would give me some options.

Look in Oblivion>Oblivion Modification>Mod Troubleshooting For the Topic "Problem with the Elder Scrolls mods" The reply by LHammonds has links to sites and articles that will give you better advice than I can on what is wrong with your game and how to fix it.The crash you are describing is caused by a mod being overwritten or not being installed/allowed to work. The problem can be a mistake by you or a component of Windows like UAC.If you have Windows Vista or 7 as an operating sytem, You should have Oblivion installed outside of Program Files. I use C:Games\Oblivion.

Thanks very much, this is very useful information. I have windows 7, and I had it installed in program files, perhaps this can clear my problem. thanks again.
