fundip206 Posted June 30, 2010 Share Posted June 30, 2010 Since i have no mod/scripting skills i can only request this.So basically, this is all a concept, i need people to help make this possible, please tell me if this is do-able or not I have an idea for a mod where you can be a king/queen of a small province, which later you can expand through conquest or diplomacy, it starts 10 days after you escape from prison, a messenger will come and find you, if you aren't starting a new game then it starts when the messenger finds you. he will inform you of your brothers death and he will present you his last will and testament stating that you are to takeover his kingdom, a waypoint will be added to your map and you make your way there. when you get there The steward (insert name here) will lead you to your brothers tomb, the tomb should look like the tomb of the guy you have to kill to get mehruanes razor (pardon the misspelling) except this one should be wearing full dwarven arm (to keep it race friendly) the steward will then ask you if you want to rule the kingdom, or if you dont. If you say no, the quest is over (which would be a total waste of time but I think it needs a choice) If you say yes. then you will have to pass a trial to receive your coronation, you would have to go into a nearby fort that is controlled by bandits to retrieve a artifact that a warlord and his marauders stole. After you retrieve it, you must go and give it to the steward, he will then need 24 hours to get the ceremony ready, (which you would probably use wait to skip, then the steward will come and find you, then you will follow him/her to the chapel where the priest and some citizens and guards will be waiting, you will have a kings robe equiped on you, the priest will then bless you with the strength of the 9 divines, etc After the coronation, the steward will confront you about things that need doing, a city wall to be built, population increase, to build stables, hire more guards and other things, You will need to hire guards otherwise people will start to commits crimes, first stealing, then breaking and entering, then eventually murders! off course all this will take money so you can also collect taxes to earn money or if you can, just use your own septims. when you have your basics set you can get a fighters and mage guild, more taverns and shops, some imperial guards to be your personal guards, and a general who will let you invade other kingdoms (which will be added with this mod) You will be able to participate in these wars, you will also be able to manage the war through the general, you could send in half your army, or all of it. The more soldiers the higher the cost, but conquered kingdoms mean more towns, more towns mean higher taxes. eventually if your kingdom expands big enough, bandits, warlords, pirates and others will try to attack your towns and loot them, so guards will be a necessity.I understand that people will be unhappy because they think they wont be able to go explore, but you could be able to leave the steward as an appointed attendent and he will make sure order is kept, but no income will be generated and the population wont increase, he will just keep everyone safePlease share your thoughts and if you would like to help :yes: Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Just a thought: the player's fame and infamy could be used to control the population, famous people would be adoredand thus obeyed where imfamous people would be feared, (just like stronghold!!!!!) resulting in less crime. This sounds like it could be a big mod, so initially try to add the city and the surrounding realm, other neighbouring kingdoms could be added in later add-ons. You say you can't mod,but ideas are at least 50% of modding, so develop the idea more, like where will it be? On a island, or another continent, etc... I would definitely be interested in helping. The infamy/fame thing is a good idea, maybe if you have a high infamy there will be a thiefs guild fence or a contact for the DB, skooma traders, some powerful crime lords that will help you rule. or if you have a high fame, hero's, knight and warriors will help you rule, a church will be built to honor the 9, the elder council might send legionaries to aid in wars and keeping peace. well the mod could be broken up into smaller parts, i like your idea about adding later parts of add-ons though. The only issue i cant figure out is if it should be anouther continent (i dont even know how that would be possible but im sure it can be done) or if it should be in a different region of tamriel, originally i hoped cyrodill but that would be harder to do, no that much open space for other kingdoms and such. However assuming that this land will change over time is incorrect, as I am basing it around a questline similar to the fighter guild: e.g. quest one build a chapel or recruit a proper town guard. These quests will occur due to requirements such as having no guards, being hated by the people or having excessive taxes. If I finish this mod and upload I will definitely credit you with the idea.
