Nordicmax
Got some questions here... First of all, if i want to use a .nif from the official oblivion stuff, how do i do that?(i want to make a new book, and i've found an existing book cover in vanilla oblivion which i like, but i can't find it) Secondly, if i wish to change the wilderness creature spawning thingy, do i have to manually remove and add monsters?(What i want to do here is to change so some creatures spawns in groups instead of just one at a time in some places) Thirdly, if i download a mod and use some of it's content, will my own mod be requiring that mod to be installed to work? Fourth, if so, is there any way to change that so it doesn't require the other mod? Fifth, if i wish to change existing NPCs gear, do i have to change each single one of them?(For example, if i wish to change some city guard's armour) That'll be all, i'll add more if i run into some other questions which i need to be answered:)
Tomlong54210
LHammond's Site <-- good place to check for tutorials 1) You cannot release official content, but since that is just a texture, you just need to have the mesh point to that texture. You need the texture's file path, relative to the Textures folder. You should get familiar with TES4Edit. It is helpful for finding out those sorts of things. If you know what book has the texture, you can search through Oblivion.esm with TES4Edit.TES4Edit - http://tesivpositive.animolious.com/index.php?page=tes4edit 2) You have to manually add references. The density of the spawn is controlled by leveled lists. You should look at the Oblivion.esm and or another mod that creates creature spawns to see how that works. If you use TES4Edit, look in the WORLD or CELL branch for references placing spawn points. 3) Yes, unless you have the modder's permission to add some of that mod's content to your mod. If you are referring to using another mod's plugin, then definitely. 4) Yes. For data files, you would need the modder's permission to include the files. For plugins, you would have to remove the dependency by changing FormIDs. An example of this can be found here: http://tesivpositive.animolious.com/index.php?page=tutorial_adding_hairs_to_drow_races <-- This patch was made for personal use, not for public release (which is why adding Ren's hair was even discussed.) 5) No. NPCs (humanoids and creatures) have unique records. The easiest way to tweak inventory is, again, to use TES4Edit.
