Ok I have been scouring the net for some information / resources exec. I am at the point now I need to just ask. Here is my Moding Experience in Oblivion.... Long list eh? I have created scripts and edited other games. But for some reason I am having a hell of a time finding a good URL that will help with what I am looking for.

 

Goal: Create a better Magica system based on my needs.

 

What I need it to do:

Increase base Magica, in the game to better reflect a caster. How I see this happening is the following.

Per Level

Magica itself increases by a % of what the current amount is.

Level based on current Intelligence, above 50 would add to the base Magica.

A caster would have a birth sign of a caster type. Such as the Mage / Lady / Apprentice. This also adds to the base Magica by a %

Magica increases by a % based on the skill level off all Types of magic.

 

What I have done:

I tweeked with: fPCBaseMagickaMult But of course doing that, also increases the level 1 magic to the point it's insane.

Attempted to find scripting resources to suit the above needs.

 

Played with other Settings: fMagicRangeTargetCostMult exec.

 

Reason for this mod:

I dislike the magic system only because of the Magica. I know mods exsist to increase this, as well as I can change the FPCBaseMagickaMult stat to give myself as much magica as I could ever want or use. This is not what I want.

 

I want to change it so if you focus casting, you will get a good amount of magica, if your a mix between caster / fighter or rogue type then you would have a ok amount, but not as high as if you were a pure caster. If your a pure fighter, then your magica is going to be very low. Even if you only build up one school of magic as you level, your magica would not be as high as someone of equal level that focused on all schools / stats exec.

 

This is NOT for the expansion, and I would like to not use the OBSE.

 

I am not asking someone to make this mod for me, I want to give you an idea of what type of resources I am looking for. I can't learn unless I can find out how to do this myself. That is my goal. Any help would be great. Any mods that already exist that cover some of the points (or all) would be great to look at, pick apart so I can see how they were made. I still would need some resources of course to tell me why people did what they did.

[uPDATE]

What I have figured out how to do, is to make a quest with no triggers, with a delay of 0.01 in the script.

 

As well I found what I need to call to get all the information I need to make the variable work. Picking apart the code, I learned how to make what I need. But, what I am not sure of how to accomplish is how to get the trigger to run under these conditions only.

 

#1: Player started new game.

#2: Player just finished leveling up.
