Tivaan Posted July 2, 2010 Share Posted July 2, 2010 Here is an idea after Lothering has been destroyed, you can revisit and start clearing the darkspawn out, and slowly as the game proceeds you get quests to help clear out a field or maybe a biulding that still has darkspawn in them. And as you visit Lothering and gain subsequent quests Lothering gains more and more residents, shops, and travellers, etc. until finally it has been restored to its formal self. Maybe as a final quest, in the windmill in the field in Lothering you stumble across a network of caves that is letting the darkspawn access to the town, that you need to clear to finally stop the darkspawn from coming in. nezroy Posted July 2, 2010 Share Posted July 2, 2010 Well I can't promise anything, but I have been toying around with the idea of doing a mod to head back into Lothering for quite a while. It always bugged me that Lothering just vanished off the map and there's almost no in-game quest/story around that. My idea revolves more around the theme of returning to Lothering as a completely burned out town, and facing the few surviving refugees as a Grey Warden and having to explain to them why the Wardens "abandoned" them to the dark spawn. Maybe also as a chance to recruit Sten/Leliana if you skipped them the first time. Maybe even adding something to the epilogue about Lothering being rebuilt, etc. This all came about because I have always wanted to have the gear from Leliana's Item Set be attained by Leliana returning to Lothering to recover her personal effects, rather than just purchased off Bodahn. But I think it could be a lot more simple than all the ideas about rebuilding it.Tbh burn it, make it look all tainted, trees on the horizon burning etc. Just really scary looking. Lots of darkspawn to kill, some little quests to take up a bit of time. Oh, and perhaps someone still alive and fighting the darkspawn, perhaps use the windmill? One of the templars perhaps. bridgitte Posted October 1, 2020 Share Posted October 1, 2020 Well it is 2020 and I've seen no mod for this idea - yes it would be great to have some surviving templar etc. that battle from a ruined chantry and to be able to slowly rebuild, but face it, with the DA2 and Inquisition both out I think everyone has abandoned Lothering and DAO for good - sad to say Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
