Basically, if you've never played fallout(Then you should!), you can sell stuff to a merchant and take all his money. But, if you still don't have enough money for his item that you want, you can cue one or more items from your inventory and it'll show how much he owes you for them. you can then choose items from his inventory to pay the difference. so essentially you can trade your items for their items or a combination of items and money. I think that would work well in skyrim because then if a vendor doesn't have enough gold for you to get what he's selling, you can trade him some valuables that you don't need, instead of running all over town cleaning out all the vendors to get enough coin for it. I mean c'mon i give Eurlond some diamonds but he doesnt have enough gold for them? since I'd just give the gold right back anyway just keep your gold and the diamonds and give me that sword!
