DeltaType90
Hey everyone :) For unknown reasons (on my part) after having used Blender in this manner for some time now, exported .OBJs now all of a sudden have completely messed up UV maps and I can't figure out why... This is how it looks in Blender (please note the model is made up of several parts) and is how it is meant to look. http://www.mediafire.com/convkey/0700/27qnna3yp9628qj6g.jpg And this is the result I get after exporting the model and importing it into NifSkope (lower left corner is the UV map for the main body mesh as it looks after the model has been imported into NifSkope). http://www.mediafire.com/convkey/36d5/y51p9iebmlybyqk6g.jpg Anyone know the reason why this happens? P.S. It is not a single model, but rather multiple parts i.e. main body - head - bridle - eyes - tail - etc. and also note that I have tried to export (Blender) and import (Nifskope) the model both as a single .OBJ (set) as well as in individual parts, neither method works.. Hope someone out there can help me out and thank you in advance for any tips or advise :) With best regardsDT90
Tamira
All of a sudden? It has been known for rather a long time now that importing obj into the newer versions of Nifskope is no longer recommended as the UV is messed up. Export as 3ds and import into Nifskope as 3dsIf you insist to use the obj format, you have to use an older version of Nifskope. This is last version known to work for this:http://sourceforge.net/projects/niftools/files/nifskope/1.1.0/nifskope-1.1.0-rc6-i686-w32.7z/download
Legotrash
Tamira, which blender version are you using? Is there any data loss by exporting them as 3ds for NifSkope?I'm not currently working on anything but it'd be nice to know just in case.
Tamira
As I cannot model myself, I only use Blender to remove vertices or convert nifs or imported obj and 3ds files therefore I use the old blender 2.49 which can export in the nif format. But I don't work with armor, creatures or animations so I have no clue what might be lost there. Legotrash
For a minute I thought I finally found a workaround to use later versions for nifskope. :P It's cool,2.49 is definitely better than nothing plus the nifskope team has been working to support newer versions of blender (alot of work and not many people to do it). I haven't been in niftools forum for quite awhile now the truth is. :/ Thanks for the reply and btw,if you like modeling don't say "I can't",just practice a lil bit more. You can also find plenty of tutorials on blender's site and youtube.

DeltaType90
Oh well and this is what I was talking about, it seems the problem is not a consistent on and though it (like I wrote above) actually worked that one time, it now doesn't work again :pinch: Also the 3ds export suggestion is also not working, so that is not an option either, guess I'll just put the project on hold for now until a fix is made to solve the problem (fingers crossed)

DeltaType90
Use the latest version - https://github.com/niftools/nifskope/releasesFor a sec there it actually seems to have been fixed, but sadly this was not the case and even 3DS doesn't work, the result is actually worse when using the 3DS format, so again I am at a loss  I think I'm just gonna shelve modding for a bit, don't really have the patience for it these days, especially when the tools are not even working hehe  Thanks for the help anyway guys
