Oondivinezin
I just installed Oblivion and started modding it today. The game runs perfectly fine, the mods are all installs properly, but it doesn't appear that any of them actually work, particularly the races. I have the check boxes marked from the data base window when you start up the game. If anyone can tell me why these mods aren't working and how to fix them, that'd be great! bben46
Most likely cause: You have either Vista or Win7 and have installed to the default location. This is not a good idea as UAC protection keeps any changes from files installed in the program filed folder from taking effect without giving special permission every time. The best fix is to uninstall and reinstall outside of the protected folders. I recommend C:\Games\Oblivion. If you back up (make a copy of your original data folder outside of the Oblivion folder) you will be able to copy the backup int the new data folder and have all of your mods. Second possibility, you need the latest patch as many mods will not work without it. Get it here: http://www.elderscrolls.com/downloads/updates_patches.htm If you do not have Shivering Isles, scroll down to find the Oblivion only patch. Installing the Shivering Isles patch when you don't have Shivering Isles or installing the Oblivion only patch when you do have Shivering Isles will likely result in having to do a complete reinstall.
