nice2835
Hey, I'm new here, and I'm already sort of guessing that this might not be the right thread to put this on, but here i go, please don't yell at me. I can't, for my life, figure out how to get non OBMM mods into my game. I've tried other places on the internet, I've tried unzipping them, but all the obscure, freeware unzip programs aren't helping me, and I've used up my trial on the unzip program. I don't know how to get my mods that give me new weapons into the game (they're stuck as 7z files, annoying me) and they won't unzip right, can anyone please help me out here? Possibly some people put down their steps that they take for getting these mods in? If this is the wrong area for this thread, i will gladly move it to the right area.~First post on this forum, nice2835
David Brasher
7-Zip is the program you need to decompress .7z files. You can get it at this link and at other places: 7-Zip.org The process for unzipping is quite straight-forward. You open the 7-Zip program. There will be a directory and you browse to find your compressed downloaded weapon mod. You open it and can extract the whole thing or parts of it to the directory the compressed file is in, or you can specify someplace else. You can also drag and drop the files from the 7-Zip window to your Oblivion\Data folder.
Tomlong54210
I have a starters guide at the bottom of this page - http://tesivpositive.animolious.com/ <-- Let me know if you have any questions. Also, if you are running a non-XP version of Windows, reinstall the game to C:\Games\Bethesda Softworks. That will make your move into using modified Oblivion much smoother. Trust me.
