Drakous79
This is a reaction to "Should be named xcom enemy within nexus, no mods for vanilla." topic. Hopefully it is ok to react to locked topic, because I feel this should be answered. In fact there are mods for Enemy Unknown, because it is a version we started with and been modding until Enemy Within release. I can mention Long War and other mods, like Customizable Special Soldiers. Please understand we are mostly modding byte code (hex). As tools we have at disposal develop further, and game's research advances, some mods became available for both Enemy Unknown and Enemy Within, like XCOM Interface and Gameplay Tweaks or XCOM Camera Tweaks. On the other hand, some Enemy Uknown mods aren't available for Enemy Within, like ToolBoks. Modding the most recent version of the game is nothing less than a natural progress and no one should dictate people, which version to play or mod. They can and have to choose by themselves. Enemy Within is a port of Enemy Unknown, so we can expect more mods to come being compatible with both versions. But still it is an expansion of the original game, so EU Nexus is the right name for the site. At wall's end, I'd like you to know I bought every DLC for this game and am quite happy with it. No regret. And despite of game's not-so-easy modability, I'm still poking around trying to find ways how to force it to do my biding  So yeah, it was worth the money for me. wghost81
Most of my mods are both EU/EW compatible, because personally I like EU more than EW. But since most players prefer EW (and Long War for EW), I usually make EW version first and then adopt it for EU. Which may take some time, because it's just a hobby and I have job and family. Edited October 7, 2014 by wghost81
