Thandal
Hey rinanth, dcinroc, and any others who want a way to do this; Yeah, BioWare wanted us to face a Final Dilemma situation, but we don't have to! You have to be willing to "change the rules" a bit, which is why I call it the "Kobayashi Maru" solution. And it doesn't keep Morri in your Party after you turn her down, (there's a way to avoid having her leave completely, but it's difficult to execute. See the end of this post for more on that.) But you can still have your Alistair all to yourself this way. See: "Don't have to have sex with Morrigan". Note 1: Search these forums or the DA Wiki if you need help using the Command Console. Note 2: If you do want to keep Morrigan in the Party for her skills, NEVER SPEAK TO HER AGAIN once you've arrived at Redcliffe Castle the night before heading to Denerim for the Final Battle. If you ever initiate a conversation she'll throw a fit and disappear! Happy Happy-Ending!

Some questions popped into my head regarding the "Secret Companion" option. Will he be treated as summoned creature? A blue-circle ally? I'm not clear on what you mean regarding the tactics (other than you can't use them, I get that). If, for example, he went down, is he totally dead, or could he be revived with the revive spell? Can you control his movement and maybe stick him up on that middle ballista platform which rarely sees much darkspawn action? You've got me curious. Thandal
No Portrait appears at all. The added character is simply "present" in the environment. Any companion added to the Party this way is equipped, and behaves, according to the defaults. So, for example, you can't give them the cool 3x-Enchanted weapon you've been carrying around, and you can't set their AI to have them quaff a Healing potion at x% Health. (Although you can make them the target of allied efforts, both helpful and hurtful.) Generally, you can only assign them destinations for movement, and targets for actions. So I guess that if their Cunning were high enough, they could operate the ballistas, (but IIRC, that pretty much takes Rogue-level. )

I've never used the console to add party members, so didn't know. As far using the ballista, I wasn't thinking about that. Just trying to think of the safest place to stash him while I'm killing the archdemon. Of course, since I can't turn his tactics off, he probably wouldn't stay put.
