Detect Life Issue

I'm having an issue with Oblivion where the detect life spell is perpetually on. It think it became frozen on my character after using the night vision goggles mod, but I uninstalled it and it hasn't changed anything. The effect does not show up on my status and dispell, console or otherwise has no effect. I couldn't locate any other console commands that might help, so does anybody have any idea on how to solve this? Or a command that would fix the problem?(the spell's effect is a custom detect life effect so I can't find the spell id to try and dispel that way). Thanks in advance.

No I tried that, the stat reset affects stat values themselves but not magical effects, unless they directly affect those stats. Since detect life does not, it isn't helping.

Please, post your load order. http://tesivpositive.animolious.com/index.php?page=know_how_to#PostYourLoadOrder

This sounds kind of bad. You may need to rollback to a save before the problem started, even after finding the culprit. If the effect is recognized by the vanilla game (which would be the case if this is the normal detect life effect), removing a mod would not remove the effect. The effect does not rely on the mod, although what you may have used to cause the effect did. If that goggle mod was the culrpit, if you rollback to an earlier save, the issue should not persist now that you have removed it.

If you still have the mod,use Oblivion Mod Manager, convert it into an omod, and play with the goggles, use the mod to try and remove the effect. See if equipping them/removing them will fix the glitch, just remember to stick to quicksaves and autosaves for testing, hopefully you can lose the effect.EDIT read Tomlongs post, the reason I say use quicksaves and autosaves for testing is because they are easy to overwrite and you (hopefully) do not create more glitched permanent saves than you already have. Having to redo one or two quests is much easier than starting a new character.

Do not use Oblivion's quick saves or auto saves, ever. That is not a habit to get into. All you have to do is open up the console and use "save <save name>" if you need to make a save. There is no reason for other methods, especially when they can cause corruption.

This is my load order. Sorry, I couldn't find a cleaner way to post this. I tried reloading files and found that if the mod was active in the file, the permanent detect life was, even if it wasn't when I made that save. Before I had the mod in at all is fine, but unfortunately, I fell into the habit of relying on auto and quick saves. That and the fact that I modded early in the game means, I might as start over if I roll back to that save. I'm going to try converting to an OMOD(how will this change things?) and see if that will help, but there is something else. When looking up oblivion glitches on uesp, I found one called the "permanent enchantment glitch" which seems very similar to what I'm expierencing. It said you could remove them through console commands, but did not specify which ones. Would there be any way to figure this out? Thanks again, for all the help.

EDIT: I did some more searching. How can I use the construction set to find the formID of an enchantment in a mod? I might be able to use the dispel command, if I can figure it out.

The reason to try the omod is because you may have deleted the mod while your character had the goggles equipped, this is just like changed stats., but I know these can be fixed with the UOP option activator in misc inventory. You can cause the spell to reset by reequipping the goggles and placing them in a container before you remove the mod again. You can also load an earlier save from before you deleted the goggle mod and take them off of your character. I would reccomend the last method because it is less likely to cause a corrupted save game.P.S. the enchantment should be found inside the esp for the goggles.
