DA2 hopes and expectations

8. A huge tease by Chris Priestly (BioWare moderator on forums) regarding some released concept art indicates there will be a character we'll "recognize", in one form or another. (The early money is on Oghren! :P )

I didn't mean that last remark literally. The subject of the concept art in question is most definitely female! :teehee:

This shift in main character fits what happened in the KOTOR series. The second (by Obsidian) continued the saga five years later with a character returning to known space. Now, I am guessing that Hawke may end up being a last name, like Shepard in the ME series. And where the original character stays in Ferelden even after Awakening, by starting a completely new character allows the devs to open other parts of Thedas. I mean, Ferelden has been covered, but not Orlais, Tevinter, or Antiva. And let's not forget the Anderfels. Willl we possibly finally see Weissaupt? As for gameplay, I hope they continue the dialogue options like Leliana's Song. But I do look forward to a seperate character, and hopefully still have romance options with him/her. The character development that was in Origins must return for a successful sequel.

It was confirmed by David Gaider on the Bioware forums that Hawke is indeed your last name, and you can choose either Male or Female. I also agree with pretty much the above, but I never really cared for a voiced pc because I'm the one creating and shaping him at my own will so I always read aloud myself the stuff as it is me not some actor playing. I am really interested which country it will be in next,or will we be able to cover more than one. By the description of the "seal your place in history" was really close to what I was thinking if a non warden return took place that this thing is going to be a big epic tale and the Warden is only the beginning of it all.

So how will Morrigan fit in this?

Umm...considering she headed west out of Orlais she could make appearance,or child might kinda hard to tell knowing little to nothing besides not being in Fereldan and new hero can't speculate too much now. Although as 8/17/10 comes closer we should know more to be able to do some kind of speculating, but I can see her fitting into the continuous plot or Bioware will totally not use it and totally make a lot of people mad saying they did it for the lols.

So the smart money is on its being Morrigan, (with a hedge that it's her she-whelp! :whistling: )

I don't know Thandal, I'm just shocked that character from Origins is not going to return in DA2. What happened to spiritual successor of BG? It looks like they are going the path of NWN or you will have your character as a companion in DA2 (highly unlikely). Guess I'm just going to accept it (already past to the second last stage of grief/ depression). As for the Origin's character I think that it is Morrigan as she one of the most loved characters in Origins (not to mention that she is the other character that survives the blight).

So DA2 will have very little to do (character wise) with DA...hmm. Or even with the Grey Wardens I suppose as well; it would be pretty dumb if they just came up with another Blight as an adventure...sadly I have a feeling that Bioware (EA) will rush release this in an effort to maximise profits which probably means tons of bugs. On that note, seriously, has any of you ever wondered why we need so many dialogue fix mod masters for this game? If the game were not so superb it would be scandalous...I just hope they take the time they need; I would rather wait an extra year for a well polished game than see something within a year's time (also because I hope to have a stable job by then and will be able to afford a great gaming rig as a consequence :whistling: )

I think we just need to wait for the trailer. It is kind of shame that we need to say goodbye to the vast majority of characters from DA though...

Well put a hat on my head and Call me a Moron.

But whatever, I played Dragon Age for 7 months before it got old for me. It took two weeks for me to throw up on Awakening. I loved the endings in Dragon Age. What I suspected was the Child of Morrigan being the next Charcter, that is IF the character is not the Warden. Think about it. There are options on his/her Race so to say. Depending on your race or if Morri did the cha cha dance with Alistair.

Anyways, seeing that in the endings of both OC and Awakening in DA:O saying that this is not the last adventure of the Warden, I am pissed to know that the stupid DLCs like Leliana's Song and that crap were meant as the rest of the Adventure.

As for the recognizable character. I'll bet it's Morrigan, to obvious how shady she acts about what and why she needs a kid with the soul of an Archdemon. So yea, something about the Main Quest will be about that, if not all of it, If you ask me of course.

Whatever about Neverwinter Nights, at least it's expansions had a way better go than Awakening. Anyone here played Mask of the Betrayer? Story line was epic. And it had some sense taking the Knight Captain away from Neverwinter and the Sword Coast. Awesome story line, not "You have to clean up Alistairs mess, or do the dirty job even if you are king" and leaving all older Companions behind, no matter if you romanced Leliana, Zevran or any other @#$.

Most of the Charcters in BG1 returned in Shadows of Amn. With an even more epic story line. Dragon Age was and is a down road since Awakening.

Promised I would stay away from the DA:O thread. Guess I was just really pissed about the way DA2 is gonna be.

Peace Out
