I require some files for blender

Hello everyone,

I require a .msh file of a female elf and a female human to use in blender for some hair mods I'm working on. Does anyone have those files on hand that they could upload on this thread? Or could someone tell me how to make them? The former choice would be appreciated since this is my first project and I don't fully know my way around blender, DA toolset, photoshop, etc...

Thanks

If nobody volunteers them, you can use datool to extract them as .obj files. and then use the blender import/export tools to convert them to .msh

DAtool- http://social.bioware.com/project/41/

blender scripts- http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=268

Now, I know nothing of blender, so I'm afraid that I can't really give you any help with that at all. Tho the tutorial that NewByPower included in the files section might be of some help. Again, I dont know anything about 3d modeling, so I dont know if it covers this or not.

datool however is very easy to figure out, use, and learn. Tho I do recommend setting up a custom folder to export the files to, prior to exporting them. Just go into an area of your hard drive of choice, create a new folder, name it as you will, and then extract the files to there.

for hairs all you will need to use are the heads. as that is the model that you will be fitting the hair meshes to.

Not a problem, glad to help out. ;wink:

Sorry that I didnt give you this info before. My system was really busy and I didnt want to open up too many programs.

To look for the models in DAtool

click on file/browse models/characters/ You'll then see the list of the vanilla models. (The ones that came in the game).

we'll use Elf Female as example. One of the armors will probably be the first thing to show up. Hold down your crtl key (should be right below your left [shift] key on your keyboard. and use your arrow keys < > to scroll thru the models. They arrow keys between your regular alphabet keys and your number keypad.

so it would be something like ctrl + ->

Once you find the head, click on File/Save All and then tell it which folder to save the files to. It will save the meshes and the texture files to the folder that you tell it.

I hope that this helps, and good luck with the project!
