Tomlong54210
You are probably running Win7 or Vista, right? Did you try the separate wxpython download step? Download the 32-bit version for Python 2.6. Edit: That is the second download in the Python 2.6 box. If that still does not work, try installing v284, near the bottom of the Download section on the Bash Nexus page. There is a fix for certain v285 launch issues on Win7/Vista. You can try that as well http://forums.bethsoft.com/index.php?/topic/1102179-relz-wrye-bash-thread-46/page__view__findpost__p__16126057 but v284 will work for you. cbeebe111
I ended up just deactivating everything and eliminating them 2 at a time until I found the mod messing with the custom races. It wasn't just messing with cute elves.... was mesing with all of them. Thnks for taking a look at the load order tho Tom, I appreciated it. Hopefully the people who created wrye and those others will one day create a completely merged version so people that have some knowledge of mods, but arn't experts, can install the things you listed and use them. Tomlong54210
It does not require much. They are working on a big update now. v284 works just fine. Did you try installing it? All you have to do is extract the archive right on top of whatever you have installed already. Edit: Installing Wrye Bash does not require knowledge of mods or being an expert. A lot of people are unwilling to read the ReadMe. It is a complex tool, but you only use it as much as you need. People use Bash without the Bashed Patch. You could probably just use v275, but that is kind of old. v281 and v284 work fine. The problem is making it Vista and Win7-compatible. Bash was born when XP was used by 90% of the users are here. shaftedarrow
UAC gave me issues with BOSS (wouldn't load) and OMOD (wouldn't load all of the features on the right). Had to redo everything in a different folder and it runs perfect.

Had to redo everything in a different folder and it runs perfect.I forgot to ask where Oblivion was installed...and about the OS. OP, make sure Oblivion is installed outside of Program Files (i.e., to C:\Games\Bethesda Softworks) or all Oblivion utilities will complain even more than they would if they were running on Vista or Win7 in the default environment. The UAC is overprotective sometimes...
cbeebe111
I'm running XP SP2... (32bit) I have oblivion installed in L:\Programs\Bethesda I reformatted my HDD and that's my active/boot partition. I have both the 275 self installer and 283 archive version. Yesterday I had already been messing with OBMM for quite a while, so it didn't take much to get me frustrated (had nothing to do w/too much coffee as well.. nope, no way :) I have python 3.1 installed. Tomlong54210
That is the problem. You need to have Python 2.6 installed. You do not need any extra steps running on XP. I have installed Bash many, many times now. I am also running XP. Just follow the steps, exactly. 1) Download and install the Wrye Python 03 package (which installs Python 2.6 and other dependencies.)2) Download and run the Wyre Python v275 installer.3) Download and extract the v285 archive into your Oblivion folder (which should overwrite v275 files.)4) Launch Bash through the newly-created shortcut. Bash is not tested with Python v3.1. Edit: Why do you have v283. Use v285 or v284. You should be able to use v285 without a problem on XP, but it seems that you misread the instructions... cbeebe111
Yeah I got it all working m8. and I already ran the BOSS reorder .bat or whatever. But I'm stuck atm on installing BOMM. One Q first, setting up BOMM will allow automatic updating of the materlist file correct?? If I don't install it then I need to manually update the list in oblivion\data? Alright, on installing BOMM I got to the point where it says to: Click Word’s Office Button Where is that? ... and how do I get there. Note: It was Eldrac's Armory Final mod that had messed up all the other races. It not only puts the custom race Daemon Born in but quite a few others that I guess are more or less duplicates of vanilla races but have in the race description THIS IS NOT A PLAYABLE RACE!! DO NOT CREATE A RACE USING THIS!! SERIOUSLY!!! or something along those lines. it's why it took me so long to figure out which mod was messing with everything else. I wasn't associating that mod with a custom race mod.... just a weapons/armor mod. Anyway if it comes up in the future and the person has that in their load order it could be the issue

First of all, do you have MSWord 2003 or later? If you do, the office button is in the top-left corner.
cbeebe111
No I don't have MSWord I guess. found a torrent for MSWord 2007 and it's DL'ing. My connection is being slow today so when I get it done I'll check out BOMM again. I *think* I got a bashed patch done for my load order... I still don't understand what bashed tags are for. On saves tho... I have 3 that won't load so I'm pretty certain I don't have the correct masters. (think I need to reinstall lattamer... I had it installed at one point but removed it and installed lattamerv3) My Q I guess is when you right click on a save and in the middle it says Find Masters or something like that.... does it scan your puter for the masters.... Or internet? I'll look into it myself after I get the stuff done on Eve I need to... I'm trying to not totally mess everything up tho by pressing something I shouldn't :) I'll also search for the descritption of the save file on tesnexus. Anyway one other thing, I read on that link you gave me for TES:Positive that OBMM doesn't like manually installed mods, and ones that are will show up as having conflicts when they really don't. Should I always create an omod for every single mod? I'll do that next time I have to do a clean installation, since I can't get OOO or MMM to work and it recommends a clean installation. I might have DL'd the full OOO and not lite..... I read only OOO lite is compatible. Anyway I know that's several things but any insights you can give are welecome. Thnks for the help
