ultskeletor
So I'm getting starting in modding by adjusting the mods I play with normally to better suit my tastes. I'm already pretty familiar with creating override patches with FO3Edit, for weapons and form lists, mainly. Now I'm looking at modifying the scripts in other mods. I noticed I have the option of copying scripts as an override in FO3Edit, just like most other objects. Aside from the actual script content, will I run into any problems overriding the original script like this? My other question is somewhat related. I have previously seen this when I modified 20th Century Weapons' various repair lists by adding FWE's "Repair Parts" item to them. I've also run into this problem when spawning my own original weapons for in-game testing. The ID# (Form ID? Editor ID?) of objects seems to change with the load order. What's the best way to reference objects, particularly across mods, when the load order may change or you may not know the potential load order (such as when distributing a mod to others?)
