kareth90
"The instruction at "0x0627180" referenced memory at "0x0000000". The memory could not be read. I keep getting this error upon entering my Tenpenny House after I did a few modifications too it. Nothing major I just re-arranged and added some new furniture but no matter what this keeps happening to me. My computer specs are way over the recommended and yes I'm using FOMM and FOSE. I'm wondering if it is something I put in the house that is causing the crash but that sounds a bit ridiculous. I have all the DLC if that matters. Any other info you need, just ask. Thanks in Advance - Jeff
pkleiss
That is an OS error, not a game error. How is the error being displayed on your screen, via the game or via the OS? Could you possibly have a hardware issue? If you deleted anything from the Tenpenny cell, I know that bad things can happen, but I have never seen this kind of error from deleting vanilla objects. CTDs, yes, memory errors, no. But perhaps it may be due to deleting vanilla objects. Post a link to your mod and I'll take a look at it, if you like. Mention the exact cell name if you do. kareth90
Sadly I have not uploaded the mod to Fo3 Nexus or any other website. I did however delete some of the vanilla objects from the Tenpenny Cell. I'm not sure if this is normal but when loading the cell GECK puts everything in the cell. Meaning every piece of furniture and item from all the themes. Which really clutters the whole cell so to modify the cell myself I would delete some of the clutter so I could actually see the new furniture I was putting down. So I just ended up clearing the clutter from the different themes. The cell name is Tenpenny03Player. As far as how the crash shows up on my screen. Fallout minimizes and the "Microsoft has encountered an error and had to close" error comes up as well as the "Memory could not be read" error with the option of terminating the program which is what I do. So overall I do not think it is a problem with my hardware because I've never had a problem before with Fo3. If you'd like my computer specs let me know. pkleiss
No, I don't need to see your specs. What you described that you did is a big no no, and at this point I do think it is due to deleting vanilla objects. Those 'theme' objects are linked to other objects and when the game compiles, since some of the things are now missing, null pointers will be created and that can cause what is happening. In the future, instead of deleting vanilla objects, either mark them as initially disabled or move them out of view. Don't ever delete them. If something is in your way, double click on it to highlight it and then hit the '1' key once to make the object(s) un-selectable and hit '1' a second time to remove it from view. Then hit the F5 key to restore the render view to its original form. I can probably fix your mod, but you will have to upload it to mediafire or megaupload or somewhere. You can fix it yourself by getting FO3Edit and learning how to use that program to correct errors in your mod. For me to explain how to use that program would take 10 times longer than me just fixing it. Its up to you.

EDIT: Okay done: Your file NOTE: I undeleted all those references and set them to initially disabled. The thing is that the scripts that run the 'themes' might enable them if you buy a theme. If you really don't want these objects in your cell when you buy a theme, move them outside of the walls of the apartment. And don't ever delete vanilla objects again. And if you need to just get an object out of the way while working in the Geck, use the '1' key as I mentioned before. I loaded this up in the game and it did not crash or give me any errors, so it should work for you too, hopefully.
