Exception code 0xc0000005 dilemma

Well the error is on me. I thought once I re-installed the game I would need to update my Windows Live for Games, I now understand that is not the case. I believe I've done everything you recommended and I should be okay.

But I did have another crash with the same error code. That was what prompted me to post asking about Windows Live and assumed I needed to update it, so it was my assumption I hadn't done something you had informed me I needed to do. My guess is that's just the nature of the beast when running a heavy modded game.

Thank you for all your help

Some times things go badly, some times things go smooth as silk. Digital storage is not fool proof. we deal with system registry and I can get very close to exact circumstance you may require, but there are limits. The basic's here is all that is what I posted about. This applies a general Rule, each system Will be different.

Windows Kernel will Generate Fouls / errors if any data is messed up, corrupted, can't process it or tries to continue processing an open looped piece of code, usually that is corrupted data from the move, or the hard drive is failing.

the above is generalized to be for a clean working well system. It's not for old worn out systems. Most of the time, we see users say, they had to wipe the hard drive, this is what I am speaking of, the reason is due to left over Orphan data from files that are incomplete and are sitting in spots that Good data gets written to. such as the games software's.

defrag can fix a lot of things but if the data was corrupted to begin with? then defrag can make things much worse so we end up wiping the drives and starting over.

hard-drive longevity is the key here I am not into. Scandisk has been known to also mess up video too.

My guess is that's just the nature of the beast when running a heavy modded game.

Correct.

I should note I have FOMM running and I installed the Games for Windows LIVE Disable mod.

I don't think you can update Games for Windows Live when you have it disabled. You do not need G4WL Disabler when you are using FOMM. In the "tools" section there is an option to run the fake G4WL .bsa.

By the way, I know there is a Game of the Year version, but I never heard of a GOTH version

I do not see anything about running a fake G4WL.bsa or anything like that in tools in FOMM.

Thank you. I've removed and reloaded FOMM a couple of times and tried both versions 1.13 and the new 0.14. But I've got it now.
