Hi, I just started using mods, vanila oblivion seemed really boring.

I am a complete newbie, im trying to put together FCOM , only managed to install OOO so far.

can anyone tell me why does it say: Warning: Has same load order as another mod. , about positions 0E and 0F, i changed mods around and it doesnt matter which mod it is, its the positions.

http://img413.imageshack.us/img413/4164/loadorder.jpg

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

also, item interchange - extraction and cobl filter late, i am suposed to deactivate, and merge them. couldnt find much info on that, or maybe im jsut stupid.

deactivate = uncheck ? and merge = i select mark mergeable and when the patch is rebuilt they will merge? do i need to merge item interchange - placement also?

thank you

EDIT: load order solved, I dont know what i've done exactly :)) , but its fine now, I just sorted them around. Now I would still like answers about merging.

Also when i try to rebuild patch. i get this

The following mods are tagged 'Filter'. These should be deactivated before building the patch, and then merged into the patch during build.

*Cobl Tweaks.esp

The following mods are mergeable. While it is not important to Wrye Bash functionality or the end contents of the bashed patch, it is suggest that they be deactivated and merged into the patch; this (helps) avoid the Oblivion maximum esp/m limit.

*DLCSpellTomes - Unofficial Patch.esp

* Cobl Tweaks.esp

* OOO-Water_Weeds.esp

* Harvest [Flora] - Shivering Isles.esp

* Harvest [Flora] - DLCVileLair.esp

* Cobl Races - Balanced.esp

Automatically deactivate those mods now?

should i merge them all ? thank you

EDIT2: oh now i remember, i ran BOSS.bat, and i think it sorted out my load order.

On your question about Item extraction,Cobl Filter,etc... any mod that appears in green can be merged into a Bashed Patch, but the three you are asking about should ONLY be merged with the Bashed Patch. Most of the others can be run without being merged into your Bashed Patch as a normal esp. You do not need a checkmark on any green mod. you can leave them blank. When you build your patch, you will be able to activate the green mods INSIDE the bashed patch during the build. Tried to duplicate you problem with conflicting load order on the Thieves Den patches.I would try to reinstall them.

How about you read a guide about mods before you use them. Afterward, try installing just FCOM.

New (Mod) Users Guide - http://tesivpositive.animolious.com/#new_users_guide <-- This information is not just for pure newbies. That is not what the site is about.

After you have read all of it: FCOM Installation Guide - http://tesivpositive.animolious.com/index.php?page=guides_mod_installation&subpage=fcom_installation_guide <-- This one should be easier to follow than the out-dated FCOM docs. It is whole and current.

Bash Plugin Colors Quick Reference - http://tesivpositive.animolious.com/index.php?page=bash_plugin_colors_quick_reference

The Bashed Patch - http://tesivpositive.animolious.com/index.php?page=bashed_patch <-- This is just a reference to help you figure out what you can and should not check in the Patch.

i duno, ithought i could make it w/o reading :((

thx al ot, gonna have a go at those

Ehh... That does not usually work out well, especially not once you get into using overhauls. There is an OOO install guide on that site if you opt to wait on FCOM. FCOM is largely OOO blown up with more creatures from MMM and extra items from the other mods mentioned. MMMforOOO is a fine step up too. I started out with OOO. It is a great mod, and the installation is fairly simple. Anyway, read that stuff in order to become more comfortable with mods. That should help you with whatever you choose to install. You can find the site and the guide's thread in my sig.

When all else fails, Follow the directions.

Some things in using mods are just not intuitive. Using mods is not like playing a console game where you just plug in the cd and play. You will actually have to learn a little (very little) about computer data structures so you will know where to put things, and where to look for them when they get put in the wrong place.

TomLong's guide is probably the most comprehensive set of instructions available. :thumbsup:

thx a lot, ive been reading lots of stuff lately lol, i havent read so much in the last 15 years i think :P

I have almost all of the related resources used around the site posted in one place: http://tesivpositive.animolious.com/index.php?page=related_resources <-- this will give you an idea of the kind of searching you would have to do to collect most (but not nearly all) of the site's information
