Boodrl
Hello, As mentioned in other posts I am working on a hair mod for DA:O. I'm currently using Vorna's blog (http://social.bioware.com/1079/blog/4097/) as well as using this site (http://www.digitalperversion.net/gardenofshadows/index.php?topic=13854.0;wap2) to help create the .dds file for the hair mod. I'm using blender for the meshes, DATool by Adinos and BlenderIOTool by NewByPower. On top of that I'm using Gimp for the textures. So I follow the tutorials and end up with my .dds file, .mmh file, .msh file, and the mao file. For my mesh file I uploaded a .obj and then uploaded a .msh file using the BlenderIOtool. I chose the "skull" or "bald hair version" of a female elf to see where I should place my new hair . I aligned my new hair over the "bald hair" and then deleted the "bald hair" and saved over the old .msh file so it would contain my new hair. I followed Vorna's tutorial on the importing and exporting but they don't add what to do in blender when the files are imported. I'm wondering if I missed something though. With these mesh files do they have to be in a specific place on the grid in blender? Should I be attaching my new hair to something before exporting it? I also need more info about .mmh files. What are they? what does .mmh stand for? there is a text component in Vorna's blog that shows how to edit .mmh files with the DA toolset but is there a blender or 3d component to the .mmh file that I need to edit? Could I take any .mmh file, edit it with the DA toolset and then use it for my hair mod? What are .mao files and what do they do? If there are other Dragon age tutorials about adding hair models could you please post them. I need all the help i can get. Many Thanks
chibievil
well you will need to open the files in toolset, mao and mmh i believe and make sure it directs to the files you created, then if you dont have any hair mods then you will need to make a file chargenmorph.xml and make sure your file is on there, under hair. and when you create game find your hair and see if it looks right
Boodrl
I have a bunch of mods for the game. Including hair mods so I just added the necessary lines to the chargenmorph.xml. Then I placed my .dds, .mao, .msh and .mmh files in the override folder. When I start a new game and select the hair there is an empty space on top of the head where the hair should be. I'm pretty sure the error is the .msh and .mmh files.
chibievil
its to do with the mmh and mao filesyou edit them in toolset so it directs the files to your msh files
Boodrl
Right, the tutorial covered that part. Editing the files and changing the names with the names of the files created with the Gff Editor. Besides editing the .mmh file with the toolset is there anything else I should do?

Boodrl
I've named my .dds, .mao, .mmh, and .msh all the same name to make this easy. Was that a good idea?
chibievil
yeah, maybe the head isnt positioned right, try moving the hair and see if that helps
Boodrl
So I got my files to work and I can view it in the game however the hair is backwards and a few feet above the head is there some function in blender that can anchor the hair mesh to the area I moved it to?
