brokenpromise
Hey, all. I am trying to download the lich king armor(big surprise). I don't know what an override or overdrive(if that is even a file)is. it isn't in my directories. which means i probably have to create it. i don't know how, though. here i am, humbly asking the community how to do modding. i want to install it and use it. i don't know how. so, please, educate me. i am a dumb pupil and you are my sensei. we are in your dojo. <3 help a nub out
danscott84
The override folder should be located in the MyDocuments/BioWare/DragonAge/packages/core path. If it is still not there, then you have two options. First, just create a new folder called "override" in the core subfolder. Second, if you have a saved game the override folder should have been populated there already. Now if you are using XP, then the path will be in the programs instead of the MyDocuments pathline. If you have the optional file that is for the override, then yes, just drop them into that folder. However, the main file appears to be a dazip file that requires a mod manager like daupdater or damodmanager for the install. Depends on which version of this you downloaded. EDIT: daupdater comes with the game, and you can find it in the programs/DragonAge/bin_ship pathline.
RustyBlade
Now if you are using XP, then the path will be in the programs instead of the MyDocuments pathline. In XP the path is My Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\packages\core\override

Thanks for the clarification.

It has always been my experience with games to not put anything modwise in the Program Files area unless the game leaves you no other option as it can sometimes be problematic especially in a case like this where the game has two overrides. DarkeWolf
at least 3 overrides, actually. There's also one in module/core of the documents/bioware/dragon age folder as well.

I just reviewed the looooong discussion about the "Priority" field between Qwinn and others over on the BW forums. Kinda' clever how he's adjusted his Fixpack to play more nicely with stand-alone mods for particular purposes. If he were a poster here I'd give him kudos!
