Well there definitely has to be a cause to it. In the meantime have you tried using one of the mod managers? See if they can keep you in business till more techy heads than mine can get this sorted for you?

And have you tried using a different browser yet, as suggested in the third or fourth post?

I am sorry I am tired of fooling with this. After years of downloading from here , now suddenly I can no longer download..

Thanks for trying but really.. I don't think this is my problem.. Something has been changed about Nexus..

Thanks

When several million users CAN download - and you cant - so it must be the Nexus?

Have you tried another browser? We are not saying to dump your current browser, You don't even have to remove it. I have 6 browsers on my computer and often have more then one running at the same time. Just download a different browser and TRY it (with NO add ons) . You can then go back to your preferred browser.

Ive got slow Dl from Nexus over the few days I can get the Dl to go but at a small 20kbs or lower when I use to get like 550 kbs - 2 mb I just Dl the smim when I got an server error after being on for the last 9 hours at a low speed to get the mod, just not more the 5 mins ago serve r diened access and lost my file had 100 meg to go,

Ive tried opera, pale moon, IE, google chrome, set ports up in the router and still nothing, very slow speeds, on tuesday it took like 12 attemps to get Immersive armours Dl.

where the small file like 20 - 79 meg have taken up to an hour to get, yet Dl from youtube with SSyotube,,, 2.5mb, nvidia 300meg file in less than 10 mins,

so is there a problem between Australia and England that has to be checked ?

Just wanted to add in here, hopefully this could help find a fix to this problem.

I too have had the same problem, I'm unsure when it started as it's been a while since I used NMM. (Been on a little brake from Skyrim)

As of a week ago, I too can't download mods from Nexus for Skyrim, either manually or using NMM.

However I've found the cause to my problem. I use Zonealarm, turnning it off allows me to both download manual and with NMM with no problems as far as I can see.

But I've never had to do this until now, and as far as I know, the problem seems to have started when all mods began comming from fileserver CDN.

With Zonealarm on, NMM will always fail to dl and manual will take around 20 minutes before it will eventually start the download.

I've tried all manner of things to get things to work with Zonealarm on, but no dice, for now I have to turn it off to use Nexus.

Hope this info helps, if anyone figures out the cause or knows how to configure ZA to work with Nexus again, please let me know.

My experience is that downloading large files >500Mb with Chrome on an ADSL2 connection, the file passes all checks but ends up corrupt and can be as low as 90%.of the filesize. Might be a problem for users on limited bandwidths, No one has raised this as an issue with Chrome in recent times.

The files work 100% of the time with Internet Explorer 11.

A possible workaround is offer large compressed file portions in 200mb (say) chunks on the server. Bit of extra work, but isn't this the age of automation? :whistling:

only had a problem downloading yesterday but it has cleared up again. I use chrome for downloading and have never had a problem.

Zonealarm is evil and you should never use it. Every computer tech I know warns people to stay clear of it.

Not evil, really. Just incredibly overzealous.

As a computer tech I can tell you it causes more "otherwise inexplicable" problems than any other single consumer-grade security product.

If you're willing to dive deeply into firewall rule-sets and learn to configure it for your specific needs, then maybe it's the right solution for you. But as Tolkien once said, "Perilous to us all are the devices of an art deeper than we possess ourselves."

Several million other people are downloading mods with no problem. What are you doing different? This is a serious question because we really do want to know what blocks users. If we cannot duplicate the problem, then we don't know what it is and can't tell you what to do. There are a lot of suggestions in the forums - some for what worked for other people.

If you were able to download previously - what changed? And when did it change?

Since you have already tried 'everything' Then my suggestion is start over and try everything again.

Start by trying a different browser. You don't have to completely stop using the one you like, You can actually have more than one at a time on your computer - and can even run more then one at a time. - I have 6 installed and often have 2 or 3 open at once.
