Mi7Sama
Hi there! I know this problem probably has been reported a thousand times, but I couldn't find any good solutions, so please forgive me, if I'm not the first to ask this question. In many dialogues there's no sound. This problem does not show up in every dialogue. Many of them work without any complications. But there's also a lot of dialogues where I can just see the subtitles and have no sound. I know that this is a common problem when using custom race mods or something, but is there a way to solve this? I'm only using Moonshadow Elves and some weapon and armor mods (like Real Swords Bosmer, Pegasus Set, Elite Dark Brotherhood Armor and so on). Ren's Beauty pack and Male Body Replacer data are also installed, but not activated, because when they're activated there's no dialogue sound at all. Please help! Thanks in advance! ytsejam91
This problem is caused by the fact that you have installed mods that alter default races and are for a language version of oblivion that is different from yours. To solve this you can try to search for translation of the problematic mods, or edit the mods yourself with the CS. First of all, backup the mod esps you're going to edit.Open up the CS and load oblivion.esm and one of the mods like Ren's Beauty pack, marking it as active. Then in the top menu bar go in Charachter, and then select Race. Now modify the race names (not the IDs) to fit your language version of the game. If the names are already ok, just close the CS and reopen it to load another mod.Once finished, save the mod. Apply this procedure to all the mods you know that are editing the default races. The reason to do this is the following: Oblivion's sound folders structure is different between laguages, and it searchs its voice audio files looking at the race name, that matches the language. When a mod adds new hairstyles (for example), it also edits the race name. This means that if the mod language differs from the game language Oblivion won't be able to find his own audio files anymore.
