Blender question

Hello,

 

I edited a hair mesh with blender and aligned it so it would properly fit on a female elf's head. when I open up dragonage the hair is backwards and a few feet above the head. when I open up my .msh file in blender it appears the same way too no matter how many times I try to correct the position. What do I have to do in blender to anchor my mesh where I want it to be. Does it have to do with triangulating the mesh? What does it mean to triangulate the mesh?
