yamacraw
So i had some issues with Oblivion which led me to trying a full reinstall. I ran the un-installer, then manually deleted Bethesda soft works folder afterwards. I un-installed, TES Construction, Oblivion mod manager so as to ensure i get a clean start. So i re-installed Oblivion from a clean slate AND BOOM it still wont start up. I've updated all of my drivers (im running an 8800 GT) and still i get no results. Any idea what might be causing the conflict? Ive made no major changes to my system setup in the last few weeks.

FYI: The Saves folder is in that folder as well.

bben46
When you use the game furnished uninstall, it doesn't really uninstall everything. It leaves behind everything in the data folder that was not installed from the disk, (such as mods) the save games folder, the Oblivion.ini where the hardware info is stored and some entries in the Windows Registry that can come back and byte you later. Here is a link to my complete uninstall/reinstall procedure located in the articles section of the Nexushttp://www.tesnexus.com/articles/article.php?id=240 It removes everything, allowing for a true clean install. It allows you to preserve any saves and mods in a separate folder, or remove them completely - your choice.
yamacraw
Sorry for the delayed response and thanks to all of those who helped. As far as the un-install not removing mods, that part i knew and i removed them all prior to trying to relaunch the game. The oblivion.ini was all that needed to be removed to get the game working again! now onto a new problem im having and a new thread!
