WastelandAssassin
don't you think you should first worry about why the game crashes?you should make sure all your mods are properly installed, and try to fix the crashesI did not even see the crash thing. OP, post your load order. That should be a mod conflict problem: http://tesivpositive.animolious.com/index.php?page=know_how_to#PostYourLoadOrder Have you changed your PC's race recently or removed a cosmetic mod with which you created your character? he has re-installed the game, but he didn't install the mods he used on the charthat is why the problem is like that

yamacraw
The problem i have is that i re-installed the game, the character loads up just fine (I saved the "saves" folder)... i am missing ALOT of mods now which im ok tbh, but the lack of my original naming for my hair mod is causing an issue i think because now Oblivion doesn't know where it is and it still thinks my char has it on. The hair has been reinstalled using TES construction however the naming is as i said different. My best option will be to repair the hair issue by whatever means possible, wyre bash apparently has the ability to fix this but im not sure how to do it yet. As an alternative im also trying to just make a new char, and transfer the face from my old char to the new one. Also trying to figure out how to do this using wyre bash. yamacraw
Ok new update, importing the face using Wyrebash brings the hair, and by extension the hair problem along with it to the new save file that is NOT dependent on other mods. THEREFORE I can be sure that the problem is the hair itself. Is there any way to change your chars hair using Wyrebash? Finding this out will potentially solve this issue for both my existing char, and the new character im trying to transport it to. itll be win win, and i know you can do it... the specs for wyrebash mod itself on its download page mentions it specifically but i cannot figure out where you do it. yamacraw
yet another discovery, theres an option to "Repair Hair" in wyre bash which simply tells me "No repair necessary" i beg to differ.... comments?
geechan
I think there's a way to go Save Game > NPC > Save Game. You can edit the hair via NPC (there's a companions tutorial around somewhere that tells you how to get it to NPC... importing the face via wyre bash into a face library.esp, then exporting the face out of the .esp into a save game again, I believe, after altering stuff). I'll try to look around for the tutorial and see if I can find it again. And now that I think about it, I think you can edit the hair some other way too. I need to remember the name of the mod :c Oblivion Face Exchange Lite http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=7808 Try that. It allows you to change things like hair, eyes, etc. (You want the edit save file button and etc. It's very easy to use.)
yamacraw
when i click save after editing the hair on my char, it just hangs and doesn't do anything... any idea what might cause that?
geechan
How does it hang? It should create a save file named after your char in the save, save it as that, otherwise it'll cause problems if you try to save it as the file you're editing, I believe. *scratches head* Are you altering the hair to vanilla? Try going into settings and making sure it says 'show all known hairstyles and eyes'.
yamacraw
Im actually not ever getting or seeing any option as to what it will be named as a save. Where should i look? I should also mention that my char is a Moonshadow elf, and as custom mods go its generally installed a bit differently... could that be an issue? Also ive noticed that when i try to move the face from my existing char to the new one it tells me its a different race..... curious. *EDIT* that was because there are two different versions of Moonshadow elf, i forgot about that when doing this part. Even still i cant get it to save... it still just goes into not responding.
geechan
All right, uhm, maybe some screenshots will help? Interface:http://astralromance.com/Image1.gif Settings/Show All Known Hairstyles and Eyes:http://astralromance.com/Image2.gif Select your save file, then Edit Save File:http://astralromance.com/Image3.gif Alter your hairstyle. I'm assuming that blank = default, but I can't be sure:http://astralromance.com/Image4.gif Save Button, then save the save file:http://astralromance.com/Image5.gif To keep errors down, you can also tell the settings to go for active plugins only for hairstyle and eyes too.
