Camera angles during conversations

Recommended Posts

I am still working on a mod to make Daveth an elf. I have found eight cutscenes to correct the camera angle so that his face is near the center of the screen when focussing on him. (instead of just his forehead) However, I have three conversations where his head is at the very bottom of the screen (wounded soldier in KW, and twice where he tells Jory he's blubbering right before the joining). Is there a way to fix these where his face is centered, or am I stuck with his jaw on the bottom of the screen?

i think you would have to modify the cutscenes entirely to move the camera or it might be to edit the stages to change the cameras around

Yeah, the cutscenes I found and have been modifying the camera angles on them (talking to warden about kennel master and wilds flower, and the joining itself). However, the conversations themselves are not listed in the cutscenes pallette, so where do I find the camera angles for those?

they would be stages, try changing cameras on the conversations to see if that helps, it usually does and if you can check the stages and add cameras yourself

Ok, because I have the convversations, and on the bottom there are tabs for global settings, plots and scripting, cinematics, and preview. Just under that is a box that is checked for locking all cameras. However (and the one I am looking at right now is Jory's line about seasoned men and not being a coward) I cannot find the lines in the conversation that Daveth speaks "you see ser knight. We may die, but we'll be warned about it first." Now, I have found the blubbering line, and in the cinematics the camera is locked. If I unlock it will it follow the new face? There is no image or animatic to preview.

EDIT: BTW, there are two camera options, daveth_cu (close-up) and daveth_ots. I know that the ots angles work in the other parts of the conversation and changing to it would work, I am just wondering if unlocking the camera will still be close-up but auto adjust for the new height of the elf character?

it might do, i am not sure as i havent edited like that, i only have made my own cutscenes and made new stages

Yeah, here too. I have made cutscenes, and those are easy for me now. It's the camera angles in the dialogue that are confusing me. I have gotten where I can change to an overall shot, which is probably the best thing and easier. Now I just have to figure how to keep them talking instead of just staring at each other and reading the words. (the VO command is different here than on normal cutscenes).
