MLGMikefgts
Ello! Ples, I love the .45 SMG in the game and its my main weapon. Though its inaccurate as hell! I dont care about the damage i just want it more accurate. Like an m16. :)
flamenx01
Download GECK, launch it and open honest hearts, go to items/weapons and find the .45 SMG in the weapon list (the id will start with DLC02 probably) and click on it. Then change the minimum spread value to something small (like 0.05) then click ok, then click save and name the file. You can the activate that esp in your mod manager
Ladez
Here, gave it the same spread as the Service Rifle.

bben46
I have fired both an M3 and Thompson .45 caliber submachine gun (SMG) in real life. They are inaccurate at anything beyond about 10 meters ( 33 feet) - and not exceptionally accurate even closer. The .45 ACP round they use is a stubby low velocity pistol round not suited for any kind of long range use. Using stock ammunition, beyond about 20 meters they drop like a rock and tend to wander as they lose velocity. The advantage is that inside that close range, they hammer the target. Being hit with just one will incapacitate most people if it doesn't kill them outright. A SMG tends to put a lot of bullets out in the general area in a hurry increasing the probability of getting a hit, or multiple hits, in the range it was intended for - out to about 25 meters max (well under 100 feet) Then, it is difficult to hold the weapon on target while firing full auto as well ( especially the M3). I think the rifling in the M3 barrel was just there for decoration. The Thompson is a heavier weapon with a longer barrel and is a bit more accurate. But still will not do well at long range. I never considered the M16 to be an exceptionally accurate weapon.(it is accurate enough for what it was designed for though) I carried an M14 - My off the shelf issue M14 was capable of a 6 inch group at 500 meters. A typical M16 is doing good to hold 6 inches at 200 meters. That does not mean the m16 is not a good weapon. It is very good at shorter ranges and is faster to get on target because of it's lighter weight and shorter length. The definitive measure of accuracy for a combat rifle is can it hit a man sized target consistently at 100 meters - and the M16 can do that very well. The .45caliber SMG cannot. Now, for the game - you need to decrease spread to increase accuracy. This is mostly your character and not the specific weapon - but poor weapon condition increases spread quite a bit. Your gun skill is the primary factor - and that can be improved with Agility. The Run n Gun perk helps also. Then, There are several mods that can help with spread.http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/46664/?http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/48697/?http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/39157/? Here is one that tells you what the spread of your weapon is. http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/54643/?
