SynSomnium
So, I am in the Notepad, Opened up Oblivion_default.ini, and lo and behold. bAllowConsole was no where to be found. So, Now I am thinking about the Ring of Console. But Last time I tried to Download OBSE and OBMM I failed, majorly.so, I need help Getting The Mod to work, Or help getting the console up.[i run on a Vista Laptop, so I'm in a bad position.] [Edit] Tried to insert bAllowConsole=1, and it didn't work. Tomlong54210
Do not modify the Oblivion_default.ini. That is what Oblivion uses to generate your default INI. Please, leave it alone!!! Oblivion.ini Tweaks - http://tesivpositive.animolious.com/index.php?page=oblivion_ini_tweaks <-- This is the INI you want to modify, the one in Documents\My Games\Oblivion\ OBSE - http://tesivpositive.animolious.com/index.php?page=obseOBMM - http://tesivpositive.animolious.com/index.php?page=obmm <-- not necessary for this issue though...Preparing for Mods - http://tesivpositive.animolious.com/index.php?page=preparing_for_mods If you are going to use mods, reinstall Oblivion outside of the default folder, Program Files, (i.e., to C:\Games) because the default folder is protected by the UAC. Edit: The UAC prevents OBMM from changing things in your Data folder and interferes with other mod-management-related processes as well.

Tomlong54210
Changing the default INI would not affect the game, directly. You should revert it back to its default state and leave it that way.
SynSomnium
Okay, so I have decided I'll just mod my oblivion. Its not in the Program files, and I need to download the Ring of Console mod.Could anyone walk me through it? Including downloading OBSE or OBMM which ever is needed? I am very confused. yeldarb
For OBMM I will reccommend the auto install version. It will guide you through the installation process and it will have a popup asking you what install path to use-remember that Oblivion is installed into C:Games\Oblivion. the installer should do the rest automatically. To install OBSE you should follow Tomlongs link. You will need to be logged on as an Administrator to change the desktop icon to use the OBSE execute file instead of the Oblivion Execute File. To install the Ring of Console just place the esp into C:Games\Oblivion\Data and activate the esp. Ring of Console is also an easy way to test if OBSE in installed properly. Just assign the ring to a hotkey and press the key (I always assign it to the 1 key myself) and type in player.coc weye then press enter, you should be inside the house in Weye near the Wawnet Inn.
