If you have Wrye Bash you could reinstall all of the mods you did have before you deleted Oblivion by looking at the list from a saved game. You might be able to get the game to work by deleting the configuration settings in Documents\My Games\Oblivion-the file is called Oblivion. Did you remember to install Oblivion into a file like C:Games instead of Program Files if you are using Windows Vista or 7? Did you remember to reinstall OBSE and the plugins needed for the mods you have active?

no, vanilla means: no mods what so ever

and obviously since i have had oblivion working previously without ever installing wyre bash, or BOSS, i have no need of them now

I know that you have to install oblivion into any directory but the program files, but only if you plan on creating your own mods... in anycase, it is located directly in my c drive in a folder called oblivion

obse has no use since i have no mods

and i deleted everything to do with oblivion on my computer including all save games, the ini and all else, even that which is located in the my games/oblivion folder...

so does anyone know what could be the problem? here is my load order

01 oblivion.esm

Already tried with the patch, and with shivering isles, makes no difference

Hmm, straight up vanilla oblivion, UAC avoidance engaged, ini file deleted. Defragged disk??

That pretty much leave a registration entry left over from your previous install or one of the oblivion files is missing/corrupt. After that, I'd look for a dirty dvd or hardware problems.
