cjbreoany
I've been exploring the wasteland for Reilly's Rangers for the past few hours, and I stumbled across Fort Independence. I decided to pick the lock and go inside. I managed to walk around a bit and realized by seeing red that I shouldn't be there. So I left, and immediately upon my exit the Brotherhood Outcasts opened fire on me. Since I've just been wandering around discovering locations for the past few hours I haven't got any recent saves. So naturally, I went to the console to try to persuade the Brotherhood Outcasts to like me again. I found this nifty little command called SetAlly, but when I enter the following: SetAlly BrotherhoodOutcastFaction playerFaction 1, the console returns: Item 'BrotherhoodOutcastFaction not found for parameter Faction. I also tried swapping the order in which I entered the factions, and returned the same for playerFaction. My question then is two part: Is there an up to date list of faction IDs; How do you use the SetAlly command? (TL;DR) In the console, "SetAlly BrotherHoodOutcastFaction playerFaction 1" is returning "Item 'BrotherhoodOutcastFaction' not found for parameter Faction" - please help. pkleiss
the console doesn't accept the 'editor IDs' (text) of objects like factions or items, you have to enter the form IDs (hex numbers) instead. You can look them up in the Geck or a tool such as FO3Edit.
cjbreoany
That makes perfect sense, and it worked. Thank you, pkleiss.
Quetzlsacatanango
FYI, if you're running FOSE, lots of the text strings do work. I don't know about factions specifically, but things like quest names and ref names you can type in directly.
pkleiss
FYI - Quest names, yes. Factions no.
