reapthesystem
So, basically Helgen Reborn but for an Orc stronghold? I like it. Also, maybe some additional books scattered throughout Skyrim to start the quest, talking about a bandit-infested stronghold that forced the Orcs to abandon it... possibly have a prominent Orc in the game (Urag?) talk about it... this is a great idea. goremuffin
but has to be race locked.. so only orcs can do the quest .. (dunno if can be done) and i was thinking Azog the pale orc bein the antagonist .. or his elder scrolls cousin :
deathbymanga
Hmm, I've never modded before, this might be a fun thing to do if anyone wants to take me under their wing. What if you overhear it as a Rumor in a Tavern. Like, if the Stronghold is in the Reach, and you're in Whiterun, you could here that there was a rumor of a large group of Orcs that were slain to the west. If you advance further towards the Reach, you hear more detailed Rumors about how it was an Orc Stronghold that was taken out by a band of Forsworn bandits. When you make it to Karthwasten, you find a Drunken Orc wandering the streets, saying he was thrown out the Tavern for causing too much of a ruckus. He tells you about how he was the right hand of his War Chief, fought by his side many times, and when the Forsworn came, he was ready to die, until he saw how easily their leader killed his War Chief. In his fear, he ran, fleeing like a coward. Now he has resigned himself to the ale, refusing to even give himself a warriors death. He says his punishment for his cowardliness should be a Cowards death, lying dead at the bottle of Ale. You can try and convince him otherwise, telling him that you want to help him reclaim the Stronghold. So he becomes a follower and tells you about the Forsworn. You can try and kill off the Forsworn yourself, but we could position them so that the Stronghold is too well guarded, so it requires actually planning, and the building of an small army. Maybe you need to strike a deal with the Orc Stronghold already in the Reach area, and do a quest for their War Chief in order to win his trust and be rewarded with two more Orcs, and with a party of four, you plan an attack on the Stronghold. After a gruesome battle befitting an Orc, you win, and uncover the armor of the old War Chief, and are even able to wear it. The orc that helped in the fight must return to their War Chief, but you have the choice to try and recruit them to join your Stronghold. You can do some trading and dealings with the neighboring Stronghold. And maybe even get into a trade dispute with Markarth. I know this was probably more flavor text than anything else, but i think this could be done by creating a radius outward from the Reach, picking all the local taverns and choosing how much detailed a rumor to tell the farther out the radius gets. Then craft a Stronghold using pre-existing Stronghold models, and set up a collection of Forsworn bandits to fill the area, strategize the thing to make it incredibly hard to take. (Remember, I've never made a mod before so I'm probably really overestimating the process).
Wraithofdoom
until he saw how easily their leader killed his War Chief. The war chief is the strongest of the stronghold, if you are saying he got easily killed by a breton in warpaint, then the whole stronghold was weak af, if thats the case i wouldnt want anyone from there in my new stronghold. The orcs should've put one hell of a fight and the guy tells you they only lost because they were outnumbered and the forsorwn had some powerfull mages with them. deathbymanga
perhaps the orc IS the war chief, who ran away. This wouldn't be the first cowardly war chief in skyrim
avallanche
You would need someone to actually take care of your stronghold while you travel through Skyrim and so would make sense for this solo survivor be actually a kick-ass warrior that manage to fend off the invaders. Become some kind of steward / second-in-comman maybe... Nice to see the idea of the mod taking form... who knows, maybe someone actually do it. ^^ Edited October 23, 2014 by avallanche
deathbymanga
I'd offer my services, but all i can do is animate right now, though i don't think this mod needs any custom models or anything. This could easily be done with preexisting ones. I'd be willing to offer my services to help, but i don't actually know how to mod, so i'd probably need a more experienced modder to take me under his wing
