LE Soul adding to Gems

Basicly the idea is that, if you have a soul gem that is lesser but only has 'petty' make it so when you use soul trap on another petty soul to add to it to make lesser. Something like.

 

Petty Soul Gem = 1 Petty soul

Lesser Soul Gem = 2 Petty souls

Common Soul gem = 2 lesser souls or 4 Petty souls

Greater Soul Gem = 2 Common, 4 Lesser, 8 Petty Souls

Grand Soul Gem = 2 Greater, 4 Common, 8 Lesser, 16 Petty

Black Soul Gem = Black soul, As I think it should still be

 

I will say, while this idea sounds nice and all, I would assume it would require redoing pretty much all of the coding of the soul system.

 

So maybe not a small undertaking.
