CTD fix but not working?

I've done the 1st one

 

• Warning: ClimatesOfTamriel.esm is present or is active. Use ExpandedSnowSystems-CoT.esp instead to have mod work as intended. and then i'd get a total of 3 errors
• Error: ExpandedSnowSystems-CoT.esp is not present or is not active. Skyrim will CTD when loading if using this file without it. and i've download the ESS and the error still exists

Sorry, but I'm not sure I understand: you swapped ExpandedSnowSystems.esp for ExpandedSnowSystems-CoT.esp but you still CTD? Did you run Boss again? (Btw, Loot is Boss' successor, might wish to grab and use it instead.)

It's really confusing for me as well, it says i need the ESS.esp i got it then it says i should use ESS.esp over the COT.esm idk what to do haha i'm guessing i just installed incorrectly, and yes i've used LOOT, BOSS TES5edit, all the same so i deleted the COT mods and now i don't CTD

Your COT-ESS patches require you to use the ESS version compatible with COT instead of the normal one (ExpandedSnowSystems-CoT.esp http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/28110/? instead of ExpandedSnowSystems.esp http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/28016/?). If removing COT makes all work looks like you were using the wrong one.
