JustynThyme
I have been getting an odd black screen problem. The game still runs (combat happens, sounds play, I can do everything), but everything is black - except I can still see the HUD and I can access the PipBoy, and I can still access the game menu (by pressing Esc). After reloading and playing several times until the screen goes black, I have noticed that it happens on an hour mark after sunrise (if that matters). It happened to me at 5am, 7am, then 6am, and then it just happened on one of those every time after. I searched these forums, but couldn't find a solution. (Yes, I understand that this could be poor search terms on my part.) I searched the web and found two instances where someone else had this same problem. One said they just downloaded Broken Steel and Point Lookout. He didn't get any constructive advice. The other one I found had two constructive suggestions given. Apparently, this problem also happened with Oblivion and nVidia cards. The suggested solution was to turn off shadows in the game settings. I tried this, but it didn't help. The other solution suggested was to turn off SLi. That also didn't work. Unlike either of those two examples (at least, that I know of since they didn't mention), I am running mods with the game. Also, I am using the GoTY edition, running ArchiveInvalidator Invalidated, and launching with FOSE. I am using two 1GB 9800 GT cards in SLi mode and have 3GB of RAM. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
JustynThyme
And moments after I posted this, I did another search and found the answer: it's a bug in the Seducing Women mod. I would have noticed this if I hadn't been playing without volume in order to avoid waking my newborn son. :) Flext was kind enough to post a solution. Thread where I found the solution: http://thenexusforums.com/index.php?showtopic=185502 Fix: http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=7893 Mods: Feel free to close this thread. Thanks!
