Boruto
I just installed Oblivion (not GOTY version and no mods) on my custom machine (see attached for specs) and I can't even start a game. It runs up until I click on start new game and freezes every time. I got the official patch, I've updated my drivers for my GPU and motherboard, and I even turned off my second monitor because I heard that might fix it. I don't know if this helps but when it says it will auto detect my graphics card to see what settings I should use says it doesn't recognize it and defaults to medium. If anyone can tell me anything that might help it would be much appreciated.
Tomlong54210
Have you regenerated the Oblivion.ini? http://tesivpositive.animolious.com/?page=know_how_to#RegenerateTheOblivion.ini Is this a reinstall? What operating system are you running? If you are running Vista or Win7, have you installed the game to a custom folder (i.e., C:\Games)?
Boruto
This is brand new, out of the box never been on my computer before. I am using windows 7 ultimate 64 bit. I installed it to the default directory which is C:/ Program Files (86x)/ Bethesda Softworks/ Oblivion. I've also tried regenerating the ini file and still nothing. Please, post your Dxdiag. I'll be able to look over that a little later today. In the mean time, try reinstalling the game to a custom folder (i.e., C:\Games)
