More Immersive Disease Curing

On my current playthrough of Skyrim, I am using many ods that make the game more immersive and a bit harder. But one thing I feel still lacks depth is the system for curing your diseases. What good is a mod that makes diseases harsher, or spreads lycanthropy or vampirism, if all of them can be cured by drinking one potion, or one trip to an alter? It feels way too easy.

 

What I would like to see is an extension to disease curing, where potions must be made for each individual disease. Recipies for this could be made using the alchemy ingredients already in place, but perhaps instead of requiring 2 ingredients, a third could be added. Any cure disease potion whose recipie you can buy from an alchemists shop could have a third ingredient added to make it become the cure for a specific disease.

 

Ideally, I would like to see lesser diseases like rockjoint need a potion, but curing vampirism or lycanthropy needing to be done at an alter. Lesser diseases could not be cured at an alter. But I can understand if some would want potions available for the others as well.

 

This would also be helpful to those TRYING to become a vampire or werewolf. They can let the disease progress, but cure their other ailments while they wait.

this is a really good idea would love to see this done, im all for immersion and it does feel too easy to cure diseases, you dont even need to waste money just one click at the altar.

That looks interesting, though I think it might be a little too much. I was hoping for just the simplicity of different cures. That one looks like the disease stuff would take over my game, plus it's stated that it isn't compatible with Dragonborn diseases.

Unfortunately, I felt the same way when playing with that mod. Fighting a dragon? Sure, no problem mate! Going against bears? Uhh no, not right now, I can't afford getting an infection! Was a little immersion-breaking...

 

But it'd fit really well with a hunter-mod-setup.
