ThnkFaster182
Every time I try to start the game via the fose loader I get a generic error message just as the screne goes black that reads "Fallout 3 has encountered a problem and need to close", it looks like a widows error with the exception of the vault boy face replacing the windows symbol. It MUST be noted that while I am aware that this problem keeps poping up amoung players, but in my case it ONLY occurs with the use of fose. This is a hopeful sign. please, any advise is appreciated
pkleiss
Are you sure your version of fallout is compatible with FOSE? Check the FOSE documentation for a list of what version will work and what won't.

Check the FOSE documentation for a list of what version will work and what won't. I've got the steam version, which should be compatible with FOSE. pkleiss
FOSE won't work if your game isn't patched to v1.7, is your game patched? Also, check the Fose_loder.log file to see if there were any errors in the loading process. Post it here if your not sure what you are looking at. pkleiss
That log looks right. You didn't mention it, so I assume that your game is patched to version 1.7, right? In that case, I am stumped. You could try reinstalling FOSE, but you're not getting any FOSE reported errors, so I doubt that will remedy the issue. II don't know how hard it is to reinstall the game when using steam, but if its not too hard, you may want to try to uninstall your current game and clean out the \data folder and then reinstall the game to a folder outside of \Program Files. Try something like C:\Games\Fallout 3\. That will circumvent any future UAC issues that either may arise in the future or are causing issues now. Also Installing FOSE as Admin and running the game as Admin is worth a shot as well at this point just to see if it is indeed a UAC issue that is preventing the game from allowing FOSE files to be used by Fallout.
