OOO, MMM, WarCry, COBL, Wrye, OBMM, and FCOM

If so, could someone recommend a load order?

I'm guessing Wrye, OBMM, COBL, OOO, MMM, WarCry, BOSS, and FCOM last.

That sound good?

FCOM is supposed to be the one that ties them all together, no?

I know this is ultra ambitious but humor me.

Wrye bash isn't a mod, its a program used for managing mods and savegames. BOSS is also a tool that sorts your mods automatically. FCOM is a mod that combines OOO, MMM, WarCry and Bob's Armory. I recommend following the instructions on the official FCOM page ( http://devnull.sweetdanger.net/convergence.html ) and after you do that, run BOSS and let it sort the mods out for you.

OBMM is also not a mod, it is another mod management system. So, of what you have listed, COBL, OOO, MMM, WarCry and FCOM are the actual mods, and I'm pretty sure that COBL is compatible (it's the only one mentioned that isn't in FCOM), but I'd check on the official FCOM page to be sure.

Wrye Bash is a utility, and FCOM requires it for its Bashed Patch.

OBMM is another utility, and it will allow you to install the FCOM components as OMODs.

If you read the FCOM docs (its homepage and the main thread) it would say that it requires OOO and MMM.

COBL is compatible, and if you look at the FCOM Expanded load order, you would see it there.

WarCry is another, optional, but highly recommended, FCOM component.

Fran is another, optional, but highly recommended FCOM component. It is required, if you run the latest version of FCOM, UFCOM, an unofficial update. That is not the version you will find linked on the FCOM homepage (which is quite outdated.)

BOSS is a load ordering utility.

Every response was very helpful. I know that they utilities but what I didn't know was what role FCOM and WarCry played.

I've used OBMM for 3 years COBL for 2 and Wrye and MMM for the past 9 months.

Last night I read that FCOM was a load order organizer and that it could tie MMM and OOO (which I've wanted to try but heard that they were incompatible) together as well as a WarCry, which I never heard of before.

What I needed to know was which one had the best explanation of where to start.<div>Thanks for the direction and the clarifications!<br><div> </div>

The best place to look is the current FCOM thread, which hold the current information. I forgot to mention that WarCry is an overhaul, and FCOM is just a mod, not a load order organizer. You have to do that part yourself (or let BOSS help.)

Well, I finally got it all to work!

COBL was really giving me a hard time, till I realized that it or any part of it has to be disabled before bashing. After that you open it up and it works.

The only thing that i can't get to work is Craftybits. No matter how and when I load or bash it, it either crashes on start or it keeps asking me if I would like to start with some tools, repeatedly. It's not a big deal, though. I'll do some more research on it.

I just wanted to say thanks again for all of your help and assistance!

It took several hours but it was so worth it!!

The weirdest thing about it is that one of my other mods has wiped out all crates and chests and replaced them with the big yellow WTF?! Missing Mesh symbol, LOL!

I'll figure it out eventually.

Thanks again!

Crafty Bits is a beta that really is beta status. The mod has a number of known bugs. Since you seem to be relatively uncomfortable with installing mods, leave it alone for now. The missing meshes is characteristic of a bad OOO install. Did you use the EXE to install it? Get the complete archive for 1.33, which is OMOD-Ready, and install that, followed by the 1.34b5 patch.

FCOM Installation Guide - http://tesivpositive.animolious.com/?page=guides_mod_installation&subpage=fcom_installation_guide <-- If you have questions about the guide, specifically please post in the Installation Guides thread (second link in my sig.)

I can review your FCOM LO after you reinstall OOO. Check your BSA names as well. If you read that guide, it explains the steps you may take to ensure that your BSA situation is in order for a proper FCOM install.

I loaded the archive for 1.33 OMOD-ready version of OOO and the 1.34b5 patch. It was one of the mods after that, that caused the problem. I played for a while after I loaded FCOM to see how things were and everything was fine. MMM, OOO, WarCry... went in before that.

I guess my comfort level depends on the type of mods I'm installing.

I'm very comfortable installing the basic mods. I can take them apart, repack them and install them manually or through OBMM. I can make my own as well. It's these big 'overhaul" types that I have little experience with.

I don't understand how they conflict with each other and why. I ran CB with COBL and MMM prior to this list with no problems for quite some time.

Since I never really used CraftyBits it's not a loss. For that matter there are about 5 other mods that I can do without since I really didn't use them much, despite their popularity.

I'm going to look at the guide you recommended and follow those instructions.

Thanks again for your help!

Much appreciated.

GAAAHHH!!

Those were the original instructions that I followed. But I missed a step...

OOO!

I had the update but forgot the the main mod!

Works perfectly, now.

Game is beyond awesome, now and I spend most of my time running for my life.

...which is exactly what I wanted.

Thanks a million!!

Seriously?! Cool!! That's what I like to hear. ^_____^ If you have any feedback, positive or negative, please let me know so that I can continue improving it. Screenshots are coming. I may even get a few up this weekend.

Happy gaming!
