Kraezy
I didn't know where to ask this exactly but this seems like the most logical place. I installed the game and several mods: Ren's Beauty pack, Francesco's, XP mod, obse, Dark uld interface?, alternate start, natural faces, Midas spells, Female Eyecandy, Mart's monster mod, underdark (which I'm not sure where is). I'm not sure if any of that matters for the problem but I thought I'd list what all I have just in case and mention that it seems to run them all fine after several hours of trial and error uninstalling and reinstalling things, except for a few missing meshes like Hill giant, some thing that follows the guard, and some farm animals from what i've seen so far, but I haven't seen anything new except weapons after just starting and getting to arcane university, so all the new monsters might be messed up, but that's another problem entirely that I wish I knew how to fix. But anyways, everything looked fine while I was playing the other day, it wasn't lagging very bad for me either, just crashed a few random times, one set of times involving a hill giant with a missing mesh. I don't remember if my resolution was 800x600 or the next best that isn't widescreen. I don't play for a day or 2, and my brother starts messing with all the settings because it was lagging for him apparently. Now my moon elf chick is pretty much so bright that it seems like she is glowing, except for her face.. I can't make out any sort of detail really, it's too bright and is ironically an eyesore. I went to my other character who I just made the appearance of and left at the beginning, and pretty much every pale race has this problem, the lightest I can go is human. I've went through the video settings trying a lot of different stuff in the last hour and having to restart my game to make the changes apply and nothing is working. Does anybody know how to fix this problem? I'd really appreciate it.
Tomlong54210
It sounds like some of your mods are not installed properly, and you need to set BSA Redirection (which can be set in OBMM > Utilities > Archive Invalidation.) Hopefully, regenerating your Oblivion.ini will fix the glowing issue - http://tesivpositive.animolious.com/?page=know_how_to#RegenerateTheOblivion.ini In the future, please post your load order - http://tesivpositive.animolious.com/?page=know_how_to#PostYourLoadOrder Mods for Troubleshooting - http://tesivpositive.animolious.com/?page=troubleshooting_mods <-- Get FormID Finder or RefScope (which both require OBSE) which will allow you to identify the owners of missing meshes and textures. I read one of the threads in this section about bad mods and realized that obmm has a way to see if they are conflicting lol. Most of my major mods are conflicting. Pretty much all of the Marts monster mod and Francescos files are, and maybe something else. I should have read a few threads beforehand, I didn't think it applied to my problem though. Thanks for the help, I'm gonna try deleting the mods that are conflicting and maybe redownload them after I fix the current problem. If I have any more questions/mod problems I'll be sure to post the load order as well. Oh, and I'm going to read the links you gave, feel free to ignore this question if it is answered within the links but does the order in which I download the mods affect if they will conflict? Tomlong54210
OBMM's conflict detection is practically useless. You should almost always post your load order when dealing with mod-related issues - http://tesivpositive.animolious.com/?page=know_how_to#PostYourLoadOrder Edit: MMM and Fran should conflict, but not all conflicts are bad, which is why OBMM's conflict detection is unreliable. If you really want to see conflict that matter, which probably is not necessary here, install TES4Edit.
Kraezy
Oh lol, conflict just sounded bad then I guess.. Anyways, known problems include: Missing meshes of every newly added monster, occasional crashes though it didn't crash during the 1 hour I played earlier, it says oblivion has stopped working when I exit the game (I can deal with hitting ctrl+alt+delete), and the pale-skinned characters are really bright. Posting Load Order from obmm because my wryebash launcher says no console. Rename it to "Mart's Monster Mod for Fran.bsa" if it is still named "MMM.BSA". If you do not have the MMM BSA, that is probably your problem. Rename the Fran BSAs "DLCShiveringIsles - <BSA name>.bsa" as well. Tomlong54210
I don't quite understand the bsa thing. where exactly is it supposed to go?The MMM BSA is more than 33Kb. It should have six digits for the size. You are probably having trouble extracting it because it is either not finished downloading, or the download did not complete. So I have to download a bsa for MMM and francesco? I don't have either Wow, ok I just noticed I do have MMM bsa, it just didn't have a .bsa by it like i thought it would. I probably got it from my friend with the other files and didn't even know it.. So now I'm going to try and create the Omod and see how that goes Edited July 24, 2010 by Kraezy
Tomlong54210
The Fran BSAs are in an executable. The Fran download is in two parts, two EXE files. Make sure you have both. As for MMM, oh... Do you have file extensions hidden in Windows? I can't function like that, haha. I do too much development, and I am pretty anal when it comes to organizing. When file types matter, as they do with Oblivion, I like to sort by "type".
