Eidius
Hey guys, So I recently got 3D Max (not sure if spelling it right) and I wanted to make some minor edits to this specific armor . it is not out yet but I though to do some research before starting the actual work.So what I want to do is link the part of the armor that covers the breasts expose less side boob (probably move the underside further up to connect to the diamond in the center). I also wanted to shorten the armor from below to the chest making the armor look like a modern day Sports Bra. So as you can see the armor has 4 rows of leather strips (or whatever the are) and I wanted to shorted that to only 1 or 2.I probably have to do this with the red vest underneath or completely remove it. So what must I do to do this?Is there a guide to making these changes? I want to use techniques that can by pass the other stages such as normal mapping, texturing and especially coding.Basically I just want to edit the mesh and end it there. Can anyone help and guide me to do this? Thanks!
Vadnais
You MIGHT be able to copy the whole chest piece and simply delete the excess geometry, shape the copy to cover the areas you want, and then combine the two meshes. Only thing is you'll have to re-skin the mesh when you alter it (any time you add or remove geometry you'll have to re-do the skin wrap). Here's a link to a tutorial series that might help. http://youtu.be/MSpL13jVF34?list=PL38C28CE97107F8F3

Vadnais
The first 10 or so videos will give you the basic information you need to get it done. It depends on how comfortable you are with the software being used.
