Darkenedsoul89
That basically sums up my issue. game crashes everytime I enter the ShowRacemenu command. I uninstalled and reinstalled a few mods recently and i believe that was the cause. I'm fairly certain its a hair issue as my hair is funky on the character now and one of the mods I uninstalled/reinstalled was a hair mod. I can't get any Wrye Bash programs I find to even run to use the repair hair command so if someone has a fix for it I would greatly appreciate it

Load order from OBMM Oblivion.esm I have everything else disabled at the moment. The hair mod I uninstalled then reinstalled was Ren Beauty Pack hairs only. As for patched for the latest version I'm not so sure myself. I'm running Oblivion from the Game of the Year edition with Shivering Isles and Knights of Nine from the store. When I clicked most recent patch on the official website this is what I got when I attempted to install it. http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g134/DarkSoul89/Untitled-1.jpg
Tomlong54210
GOTY is already patched to the latest version, after installing disc 2. What version number is displayed when you launch the game? Your load order should show Ren's plugins as well. Where do you have Oblivion installed? Win7 and Vista users can avoid a lot of trouble by reinstalling the game to C:\Games or another custom folder. That could cause odd things like this to happen as well, UAC interference with the default install folder. You would not lose your save files or anything. Also, the point is that the folder does not exist by default in Windows. The installer will create the C:\Games folder if you tell it to install the game there. I'll show another load out with my mods when I load the game. I can't start it up till a little later. Currently I have Oblivion installed in C:Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion. I'm assuming I'll have to move my save file over to the new folder should I happen to reinstall it? And as for the mods move them as well? Up to this point I've been manually installing them. yeldarb
You do not need to move your saves at all. On my desktop I copied everything after Bethesda Softworks and carefully merged it with the new installation. On my laptop I had to move the game to a remote hard drive and reinstall my old Data folder on to the new install from the remote hard drive, and had to wait almost an hour and a half to complete the process, but it was faster than reinstalling all of the mods one by one manually.EDIT If you do not have a program that automatically fixes missing hair issues on saved games I used a utility Show Race Menu Fix to correct the hair loss issues (TESNexus php?id 4802) The utility would repair the save so I could use "show race menu" without a ctd. Took me a bit to find what you were talking about . But this fixed it. Thanks
yeldarb
To fix hair with Wrye Bash, select the saves tab and select the save you want to fix by right clicking on it.When the save is selected left click to bring up the options and select Repair hair-it is the last option available.
