Anyone Else Find This Unfair?

It would be nice if your deeds were recognized a litttle more. Perhaps people could shower you with undying gratitiude, and you could have the townsfolk become your lapdogs just like the Grey Fox?

Regardless, this is a problem somewhat. Now, when i hear the townsfolk around chatter of my deeds it gives me either a sense of accomplishment, when it's in the town I saved though, it makes my claymore loose in it's... errr... the thingy on your back?

But it's not all bad, after awhile your fame builds up and you ask some people about rumors they'll widen their eyes and say 'You're the hero of kvatch, aren't you?' It gives me that warm fuzzy feeling.

DAVE 7HE RAVE!!

The thing on your back that you keep your sword in is a sheath

When you do ask people about rumours and they say 'you're the hero of Kvatch, aren't you?'

You have no way of answering, so why should they act like they know us....if when they ask us a question we just stare at them o_O then walk away, or change the subject.

Hero: 'RUMOURS!'

Peasant: 'You're the hero of Kvatch, aren't you?'

Hero: 'GRAY FOX'

Peasant: 'He's the most famous theif ever!'

Hero: 'Have a coin, begger'

Peasant: 'I thank you kind sir'

Man our hero is rude!

He's all, ask ask ask, but never answers anyone elses questions!

You have to admit that Bestheda could have lifted theyr little finger and change the rumors and stuff, but oblivion is not a hardcore conversation game... Like SW Knights of the Old Republic. But the people do reconize you enouth, in my opinion. Once you beat the game, you will hear guards greet you by : Hail, champion. Only people who greet you as an arch-mage are the mages... Nevertheless you all have a point in here. It was fun in Morrowind when almost every single npc gasped at the ''Nerevarine''. If some aspects from the fame oriented game Fable and conversation Kotor where to be taken and merged together for Oblivion, it would rock. Oh and by the way, if you want someone to worship you, download the Ruined-Tail compagnion.

guess i'm gonna be the one to say it... there is technology to recognize letters and repeat them, it is called microsoft speech. Bethesda could have simply did a voice over for every letter, then had the emeror ask your name, then ask if he is pronoucing it right. If that answer was no, it would run through all possible pronouciations. Simple as that.

One problem:

LOTS of more hard disk space wasted.

rofl, then why complain if you are clinging to 1gig of hd space? the game is already 4gigs, so 1gig more wouldn't hurt, plus the game would feel more personalized. I personally think it is fine. That will be a TES: V feature, cuz im on their dev team, naw j/k. I edited the credits in my game to say i am the bomb cuz i made the game(i hope that isn't illegal, cuz i'm not doing it for anyone but myself).

Oblivion takes 4.7 GB on the dvd.. The thing is I dont think that bigger dvd formats exist. So to pack that extra 1 gig they would need an extra dvd.

Two things (moderators will get mad at me some time or another):

1: But... but... but... my precious 40 gigs!

2: How do you edit the credits?
